I think it is the 1st\2nd time he said he actually wanted the fight.
When Manny ran his mouth about Floyd, it was while Floyd was retired. In that time Shane Mosely went to Wild Card multiple times to make a fight; however, Freddie didn't want any part of Shane while he was still good. He stated ridiculous catch-weight that he knew Shane would not agree to. Then went on to say that Shane is to strong and better than Oscar; more or less saying that if the fight happened, he thinks Shane would win.
Manny didn't want to step in the ring with top fighters while they are top fighters. He gets them when they are coming off retirement, drained, past their prime, or coming off a L. Floyd said many times that he was willing to fight if Pac just took a test. which isn't unreasonable given the red flags:
- Miguel Cotto said that his fight with Manny was odd because it was the first time he seen someone get stronger as the rounds went on
- Manny needed much less recover time than fighters who were use to the higher weight class
- He went from a small man past his growth years to one of the hardest punchers in a stronger weight class
- Hardly ever gets tired
When Floyd started talking about making a come back & fighting Manny, it looks as if Pac started to change...something to get ready for the fight. Like we all see now, he is getting tired, can't keep his speed up as well, and is once again human. Floyd's only prep was the Vic Ortiz fight. People can take that as they will.
Originally posted by Reloaded View PostFloyd was also still at the table agreeing to everything when Pac ran out to Clottey , Floyd also said way back then if we cant get Pac we will fight Mosley who Pac was ducking for dear life at the time , then as you said " Pac your Next " , then before JMM Floyd called him out on video , and now he called him out again about as direct as you can call a fighter out ,,,
And these fanboys want to rubbish Floyd because he is pressing hard for the fight , Floyd has upped the pressure constantly and Manny Duckman is still running .
