I have a serious question. Why is Cotto so hated by some?

Nah man. I don't think he quit against Pac.

If he continued to fight rounds 5-11, like he fought rounds 1-4, the fight would've been over in the 5th round.

Now if he fought rounds 1-4, like he fought rounds 5-11, he might have won the fight.

It's called adjusting. Cotto was fighting a style of fight that made it impossible for him to win. He recognized that and adjusted. I don't call that quitting though?

Maybe if Pac knew how to adjust against JMM, we wouldn't have had 3 fights with him arguably losing all 3.

    Adjusting, not quitting man. Adjusting.

and people call me crazy but over all and you can disagree here, I think Cotto did the most over all physical damage to Pac, well that was until a couple weeks ago when Marquez whipped him.

But to me Cotto landed some vicious shots on manny...

Saturdays fight is going to come down to Miguel making the proper adjustments and we already know what needs to be done, he has to drop that bike and pick up a skate board and turn Margarito and take advantage of his poor footwork, run his shots off turn him and as Margarito adjust to reset he must hit him before he is reset and turn him again.

if he does this he will hit tony and be out of the way for the return fire... which is what Mosley did, it is some what, what Pac did. the reason Miguel gassed in fight one he was on that bike and throwing alot.

and Margarito was just like a wall closing in on Miguel which never gave Miguel a chance to gain a 2nd wind because Tony didnt allow him time to rest in there... He better go after that eye in this fight, and I aint saying this in a ****ed up way if I am in Cottos corner thats what I am going after, because as a result of fight 1 and the Pac fight, this mother ****er can take everything you throw at him and will keep coming.

its really his best chance to win

I think people just naturally like going against the grain..He's given us some pretty good wars to go back and watch like Torres, Mosley, Judah, Clottey, Margarito, etc.

I notice it's mostly Margarito fans who bash him, yet when the counter-argument you brought up about Duran, Chavez, Morales, etc they either make themselves look ****** or come with excuses of being past prime..yet Vazquez quit in the first Marquez fight and that was a prime Duran who pulled a 'No Mas'..

I just ignore it now, since I do believe they simply do it out of envy, and for attention..In this generation of people it's "cool" to be a hater, the b!tchasness that's justified is hilarious, now it's "OK" to be jealous or downplay another man's accomplishments like Women do, and their counter to that is.."eyebrow plucking"..again somethin Abner Mares and Chris Arreola do themselves..but because they're Mexican-Americans the Margarito fans ignore that and find it quite alright.

Also, I think Morales quit in the 3rd fight against Pac.

Morales could've easily beat the count. I don't think Morales tried to adjust or anything. He tried one type of style that didn't work for him and simply quit after that.

He was staring at his corner as the ref stopped it. I don't think Morales really took that much damage compared to Cotto vs Marg to quit like that.

But then again, I wasn't getting hit by Pac that night either. So I dont know.

Cotto is the least pr fighter in history in all categories, but that marg fight messed him up bad. That's when he wasn't that much liked imo. I live next to bushwick, brooklyn which is pr town and they lost respect for cotto that fight which is sad.

For me it comes down to Cotto statements regarding targeting the "Eye" and that he is absolutely sure Tonys wraps where plastered.. We can not say that for sure, although its possible, if not Cotto's in for a long grueling case of deja vu.. I think they both equally took massive punishment in the last couple of years, so this fight may still be more even than Cotto believes.. Im still rooting for Miguel!

Any man that thinks Cotto is a coward I only have one question for them. Would they get into the ring again with a man that utterly destroyed them previously?

That's honestly about the bravest thing a pro fighter could ever do. Stare down the man that destroyed you, who's bigger & stronger & fight him again, that **** is gangsta.

I can't see Cotto being really disliked by Newyoricans. I think the problem is that Trinidad has been the most beloved PR fighter of all time, along with Gómez. If you compare them, Trinidad's following will beat Cotto's by a mile, but MC still has a lot of drawing power in New York.

Trinidad's mixture of talent, charisma, and humble attitude is hard to find. Right now, Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. is the closest to him, but he needs more accomplishments in the ring.

Don't foget to include yourself as Margo's biggest ***ryder, dj...nobody had photochopped Cotto to look like Jesus, even though he was never accused of cheating, ever..
