I think people just naturally like going against the grain..he's given us some pretty good wars to go back and watch like torres, mosley, judah, clottey, margarito, etc.

I notice it's mostly margarito fans who bash him, yet when the counter-argument you brought up about duran, chavez, morales, etc they either make themselves look ****** or come with excuses of being past prime..yet vazquez quit in the first marquez fight and that was a prime duran who pulled a 'no mas'..

I just ignore it now, since i do believe they simply do it out of envy, and for attention..in this generation of people it's "cool" to be a hater, the b!tchasness that's justified is hilarious, now it's "ok" to be jealous or downplay another man's accomplishments like women do, and their counter to that is.."eyebrow plucking"..again somethin abner mares and chris arreola do themselves..but because they're mexican-americans the margarito fans ignore that and find it quite alright.

I do not hate Cotto. But I will say that lately he just seems like a total b1tch. Crying, *****ing, and moaning all day long. But the main problem is first he says one thing then changes it up. It's the same reason I don't like freddie roach.

First he is like I don't know if used bad wraps but I am taking my loss like a man. Then he is over here crying about how he is sure he got a beatdown because Marg used illegal wraps. So what happened to taking your loss like a man and not accusing.

It seems like as the fight draws nearer he starts to become more and more anxious and he starts to act out more and more. He seems fake and of course his serious emotionless attitude towards everything doesn't help him.

I will say that as a fighter he USED to be near the top and I think at one point he would have stopped Floyd Mayweather Jr of course if he used the right game plan like he did against Quintana.

Although a lot of people give Cotto's diehard fans **** about quitting, no one really hates him because of it. It is just some banter back and forth among the competition.

I find it more interesting that the die-hard Cotto fans are so sensitive starting thread after thread of why this and why that.

When your fighter is going to fight another fighter you should expect some jabbing if not, maybe sports period aren't for you because it is the same thing for soccer, football, basketball, etc.

If you cant handle the heat, stay out the kitchen

Once again, my assessment of him is not because he is whining over the wraps. It is because he will say something like, "I am taking my first loss like a man" then 30 seconds later, "He will say something like i only lost because he cheated." He is essentially negating HIS OWN first statement where he says he is taking it like a man when he goes on and on about the total opposite of what he said.

If Margarito came out and said, Yeah I hit Cotto with bricks from my house's garden, Cotto's attitude would still bug the **** out of me because he is saying two different things at the same time.

It is like saying, I don't care what you say, yet here I am trying to rebute everything you say. Does that make sense? Like saying I take my beatings like a man, but I cry everytime and scream like a girl. etc.

Then on top of that he isn't the most charismatic guy on the planet. He might be a swell guy, but he definitely doesn't show it and some of you guys have admitted such.

So once again this has nothing to do with whether I think or don't think Margarito used bricks, or whether I think Cotto is wrong for accusing him. It is because he makes two different allegations at the same time during the same sitting depending on what makes him feel better.

When Erik Morales, my favorite fighter of all time, blamed his weight and his inability to make weight as reasons why he lost some important fights that too bugged the sh-t out of me because the truth is he was stuffing the sh-t out of his face on tacos, beer, and womanizing.

When a old super shot, beat down, Julio Cesar Chavez, one of the top 5 fighters of all time as far as I am concerned retired and didn't give his fans the thanks they deserved.... again bugged the **** out of me.

I call it like I see it imo. But that is my personal opinion. The meat of my post is that I don't think most people that talk **** even hate or dislike him. It is usual fan banter that hypes people up. It ups the stakes and makes the sporting event even higher stakes.

If no one was talking about this fight it wouldn't sell, it would be soulless.

Admittedly I don't really follow Cotto but after watching his interviews and the 24/7 episodes so far I'm really impressed with the way he conducts himself and his attitude towards life and boxing.

Personally I believe Margarito had illegal wraps in their bout so I'm rooting for Cotto all the way.

He was hyped up as some kind of elite fighter which he simply never was.

I remember before the Cotto fight most people had him ranked Top 10 P4P ahead of FAR FAR more deserving fighters like Wlad Casamayor Pavlik etc etc
