Everyone should root for Roy to get a W so he can end his career on that note if he wants to fight some less than stellar guy to do it so be it but as long as he wins and retires that's fine.

People will remember the end of his career but will NEVER forget his Prime.

Its really proves people lack of boxing knowledge when a tread that has nothing to do with Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather and they start posting dumb ass videos. Also on that note I have to say about 80% of the people that post here don't know **** about boxing its really sad that the boxing community has dwindled down to this.

Anyway i fully agree that you can't really count a boxers record after his prime against him. Roy Jones is one of the all time greats if you deny this you really don't know boxing.

      Wishing Roy all the best

The Racket Squad: Lost In Atlanta

A pointless exercise that sends the message that fistic ego and pride takes precedent over health and happiness.
Roy has a silver tongue as an HBO commentator.
It is his misfortune to also have a chin of glass and reflexes that have deteriorated to a highly dramatic extent.
The life span of the active prizefighter is short but life can be rewarding after the cheering ceases.
When Lebedev caught Roy in his last encounter, he fell like the living dead.
The lessons of Ali, Gerald McCellan and Benny Paret go unheeded to men like Jones.

        Lastly, goodnight Ron Lyle.
        Your courage was illuminating.

some of you are overreacting a bit. I say let him do what he wants, the idea that these last couple of fights spoil his whole career is overly sentimental and ridiculous. of course if he looks terrible or is cut badly then the appropriate action should be taken, but it's more likely he will show up in ok shape and be able to defend himself.

I just think people get personally offended when the great fighters of their youth have these late career fights because it leaves them with the feeling that all the good memories you have watching the guy in his prime are somehow diminished. its a thought worth examining but we should abandon this way of thinking. Boxing is a rough game, thats for sure, but I prefer it to be that way. We should respect Roy and keep any overly-sentimental feelings we have to ourselves

Roy, is obviously doing what he loves. He keeps passing physicals, so he is obiviously healthy. Every man is responsible for his own life...

Some of you guys crack me up with your hatred of RJJ; just because he made it look so easy in his prime the way he beat fighters. So you trying to tell me RJJ never got hit flush his whole career until he was Ko’ed by Tarver, Johnson etc? I could have sworn before he moved to HW and Back Down to LHW. He got hit on the jaw plenty of times in his prime by shots like Toney and Hopkins. Those shots back then didn’t have an affect on him except for Lou Del Valle knock down at that time. Once he moved back down to LHW from HW he started to get caught more due to his body changing from the drastic weight lost. Just because you get Ko’ed doesn’t change your all time rankings that is part of the game. RJJ has done something historical that shouldn’t be overlooked he was the 2nd man in 100 years to win multiple titles from Middleweight, Super Middleweight, LHW to HW then go back down LHW to become a champ again. I don’t see many fighters doing this such as Hopkins, Johnson, Toney etc? If it was so easy to do why the 100 year gap for the record to be broke and accomplished?

It's hard to hate RJJ, very likable dude, he should hang it up soon and stick with commentating which he is pretty decent at. hope he wins.
