Lets not forget that Cintron lost two of his last three bouts before this title shot.

Alvarez should try for Sergio, it could happen...Floyd won't happen, ever...kid on undercard Gilberto Martinez, unbeaten 20 yr old 160#er looked VG...interesting WBC used Hector Afu, from Panama, as ref...he's affiliated w/WBA...

Really? I don't get the disrespect for Martinez on these boards. The guy takes a lot of **** these days, ostensibly for calling out Pac and Floyd, but, hey, he's just trying to make some money before he's done. I'd rather see Martinez go after bigger guys, but I totally understand him going after the biggest money. I don't blame him for at least trying. Just like JCCJr's mgmt, Golden Boy isn't going to risk their investment by putting Canelo in with a beast like Martinez. Canelo can be fun to watch, but even with a huge advantage in youth, he is nowhere near the class of Sergio Martinez.

I guess I have to eat my words. Cintron went out like a chump, although I shouldn't be surprised based on history. I really liked Cintron too. Anyway, I still stand by my words that Canelo is not all that impressive. The hype is better than reality at this particular point. Which isn't to say that Alvarez is ****, just that I don't think he is all that great. If he gets in with a real fighter (even though I thought Cintron would pull it out), then I will give him his due.
