Pedro Sosa, the amateur boxer from the Bronx, who nearly fell to his death on the Cross Bronx Expressway on Oct. 30, has come out of his coma, is speaking and can recognize visitors, according to a family friend who went to see him last week. Sosa, who narrowly missed out on making the 2012 U.S. Olympic boxing team, losing in the finals of the trials at 141 pounds, was struck by a car after he exited his vehicle on the ice-slicked roadway after a multi-vehicle pileup. Wow this is very sad news, I wasn't aware of his accident or him being in a coma. I'm glad he's awake and recovering, feel sorry that he'll be receiving horrible news about his sister once he recovers more.

      RIP

I'm glad to hear he is doing well but it's very sad to hear about his sister.

Not sure if anyone else knows this but his brother was found dead in a river several years ago IIRC. I truly feel sorry for this kid and the losses he has had to endure.
