If this thread has already came up I apologise; used the search function and couldn't find it...Anyway we all know the BIG FIGHT we want to see happen in May, so let's not even waste any more time voicing that.
My picks:
Brandos Rios - Victor Ortiz: For me, this would be an awesome fight, they don't like each other, there's a big beef between not onlythe fighters but between both camps. The two guys' trainers are brothers for Christ sakes. Two Mexican-Americans, as well. And to boot they both hit hard as a motherf ucker, these fighters. This would be a kickass fight while it lasts and I think it'd end in a KO. I know Rios is a lightweight right now but he's big at the weight and could probably go up to 147, else they could fight at a catchweight, say 143
Tim Bradley - Amir Khan: Another one we all wanna see, won't waste much time mentioning it, good clash of styles, Amir's speed and movement versus Tim's relentlessness and dogged style, plus Tim's a quick guy too.
Bernard Hopkins - Chad Dawson: It might not be the best fight to watch - it certainly won't be - but there's unfinished business there. Period.
Lucian Bute - Super 6 Winner: Most likely Ward, in which case it'll be unbeaten versus unbeaten for the top spot at 168, basically the undisputed title, if not Froch-Bute would be a frickin war
Arthur Abraham - Sergio Martinez: Ok, bear with me. I know Abraham hasn't looked great and is coming off some limp performances and high-profile losses. Personally I think he's too small for 168. He needs a strength and conditioning coach and to drop back down to 160 where he ran over everybody, and fight Sergio. Abraham's still strong as a bull, he gave Ward some problems early before getting dominated, and I think at 160 he could still have some mileage. I'd tip Martinez to win but this would be all-action while it lasted. It'd be toe-to-toe.
J.C. Chavez jr - Saul Alvarez: Biggest Mexican fight maybe ever.
Brandon Rios - Michael Katsidis: This just spells Fight of the Year out to me. This would be Corrales-Castillo all over again.
Nonito Donaire - Abner Mares: Logical fight, great stylistic boxing match, the perfect springboard for Donaire to move up in weight again
Who else are you guys hoping lock horns in 2012?
