According to The Echo, Alisher Rahimov has withdrawn from his upcoming fight with Derry Mathews. They were scheduled to clash in January for the IBO lightweight title at the Olympia. Rahimov is reportedly going to accept a bout against Ji Hoon Kim in America, with the WBC silver belt at stake. Rahimov had signed a contract to fight Mathews and his withdrawal to take an alternate fight may set the stage for a future legal dispute. Mathews' promoter has managed to secure unbeaten Italian Emiliano Marsili, 35-years-old with a record of 29-0-1 record. Former champion Steve Forbes is scheduled to make his British debut on the Mathews-Marsili undercard, against Ryan Barrett over eight rounds.
