Well, this would all make sense if it were a forgone conclusion that Cotto beats Chavez jr. Which I do not think would happen. Chavez is huge & Cotto is small & Cotto doesn't like to fight big guys.
It won't matter no matter what he gives him, Miguel is gone. Miguel has always been a very upstanding person and you can tell his relationship has been strained with Arum and also feels that Arum has disrespected him a bit and not treated him like a real star throughout the contracts length. He's a big enough name to promote himself or go somewhere else. It will be a great moment in boxing when Miguel leaves.
Cotto should promote himself unless he thinks it will get in the way of his training. But Cotto would take most of the income if he promoted himself right? No giving money to the promoters?
