When you think about it, when has Floyd acted like a diva in negotiations? He made the Oscar, Hatton, Marquez, and Ortiz fights pretty easily. The only one where he was reluctant was the Mosley fight. I remember that Schaefer was pretty angry that it took days for Floyd to sign the contract. The first Floyd/Pac negotiations were going smoothly (and everyone was surprised about how fast it was going) until Team Pac started bitching about drug testing.

On the other hand, Pacquiao has been a major diva in negotiations. He almost dropped the Oscar fight due to the money as well as the Hatton fight. He wouldn't fight Cotto unless it was for his belt. He did make the Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, and Marquez fights pretty easily though.

The only reason Schaefer got mad about the Mosley negotiations was because in Floyd's previous fight, vs. Marquez, Floyd never signed any contract for the fight, and GBP almost got a pie in the face for it as Floyd came in overweight vs. Marquez etc. etc. etc.

That's the only reason that Schaefer made some noise. He didn't want an unsigned contract like last time so he put a little media pressure behind Floyd who was going to fight Shane all along.

And you are 100% correct, I have made the exact same comparison you just made. And you are right, Pacquiao was not as humble as people think. Against De La Hoya, he wanted 30%, more than Floyd Mayweather Jr got for DLH[something like 25%?], against Hatton he wanted more than 50-50, against Cotto he wanted a catchweight of 142, then negotiation up to 145 but Cotto's condition was that he's not going to put his belt on the line because he won it at 147 and wants to defend it at 147. I was 100% backing Cotto in this although I actually rooted for Pacquiao to beat him and I predicted Pac would stop him. The fight happened at 145 with the WBO belt on the line because Cotto was somehow threatened to be stripped if he does not fight Pac at 145[LOL? come on man]. And yeah both DLH and Hatton fights were at one point dead. None of this ever happened with any Floyd opponent that I can remember.

Yeah, Clottey, Marg, Marquez were all easy fights to make cause Pacquiao was already a "star".
