Again, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU Burns?? That fight is not happening, Marquez has about 3 or 4 more fights. WHY would he fight Burns? Anybody? Please, look at his resume!!

Who the **** are you? The attitude of some of the posters on here is a joke. In case you weren't aware, Ricky Burns is a Scottish boxer who just comprehensively beat Michael Katsidis (the same guy who went tooth and nail with Marquez a year ago, even knocking him down in the process). He also happens to be Marquez's WBO mandatory, therefore has earned his shot at the belt. I don't even consider people like you a proper fan of the sport, since you clearly have such a negative attitude towards its brave combatants. If you'd have read the article, you would've seen that Burns said it'd be an 'honor' to fight Marquez, he is a respectful challenger to the full world WBO title, and just because he isn't as high-profile as Marquez doesn't mean he should just be stonewalled. He's earned his shot at the belt. If Marquez doesn't fight him - for whatever reason - Burns gets the belt. Oh and one last thing: f uck you

I know who he is, relax and take a joke. But be honest who is Ricky burns to call out Marquez. First off Marquez barley got done with a career high fight and their might be a 4th and he talking about retirement. So calling out a fighter already who heart is not in the sport anymore is a bad look. He has demarco, Rios, even linares will all get him tv time here in the US, Marquez is not a reality for him. yeah he earned a shot but not above RIOS so he has to respect the pecking order, And mandatory dont mean ish. Fighters have to learn to build them selves so what you put yourself in a position for a shot doesn't mean they have to give it to you especially when their other fighters who are higher in the pecking order then you. So do you think he deserves a shot above rios?

fight the winner of rios/murray or kevin mitchell. although i wouldn't mind seeing this, jmm only has a 4th fight with pac in his eyes. i wish he would even give a thought about morales at 140.

Burns /Marquez

Would be an interesting fight but Marquez has bigger fish to Fry at the moment. He is focused on Pacquaio and if that fight doesnt happen he would like fight Bam Bam or Erik Morales first before Burns.

Sorry dude, that fights not happening anytime soon. But it's a good fight for Marquez to return to lightweight.

id rather have Marquez vacate the wbo title to fight Brandon Rios.

Burns Mitchell would be quality but I would like to see Burns getting a shot at JMM for Scottish boxing .Hopefully Burns does beat Mitchell as well though it probably will happen sometime 2012
