HBO to show women's boxing??? WTF

I found this on ********* schedule

    HBO Latino
    Thursday, December 8 2005
    Isleta Casino, Albuquerque, New Mexico
Mia St. John vs. Holly Holm (lightweights)
Marco Antonio Rubio vs. Robert Kamya (super welterweights)
Cesar Lopez vs. Gabriel Elizondo (NABA Flyweight Championship)
David Martinez vs. TBA (super bantamweights)
Hector Munoz vs. Carlos Madrid (super welterweights)
    Joey Villasenor vs. TBA

I thought HBO doesn't condone women's boxing, how come they're gonna show this one? I guess Golden Boy Promotions will break that trend. Do you think Mia St John slept with Dela Hoya to get on this card?

Even though I think DLH is a (first name) Marty, (last name) Cone...they should make it mandatory to hit that nice piece of ass! Even though today I dont think she looks that good, still.

Elizondo should be fighting Brian Viloria...Although I think Elizondo lost a few fights ago I think his style makes for an exciting fight with the Hawaiin Punch.

The St.John fight is the UNTELEVISED main event...

It's in the presser that was on Fight News last week--HBO Latino will not televise it.

Womans boxing is worthy of television exposure, in some cases. However, with the lack of real talent in the womans game it is certainly to early to begin airing it.

There are ofcourse exceptions to my opening statement. For example, Lucia Ryjker is a true professional boxer with skill and heart. Other than her I have not been impressed with the womans professional boxing in any way.

There is also a young woman coming up as an amatuer out of Kronk who I am certain will dominate her division in proper time. Latonya King is the woman to look for in the future.

Now if only more of the woman would follow Latonyas example of learning the trade in the amatuers before trying to blindly and unjustly pose themselves as professional fighters. Only then could the womans boxing become credible.

I'm all for women's boxing. The sport needs some exposure and good publicity.

Not only that but some of the women look pretty good. Hell, if it's gonna be on HBO how about a topless women boxing? Why not? The men do. Equal rights should be all the way not partial. but...

All of you who are discriminating and stereotyping the women would be the first ones bitching if you thought a white person was doing that to you so stop the hypocriscy.

If women want to box so be it. If it gains popularity, it will get more exposure, if not, it will revert back to the circus tents where it originated.
