What if Margarito's eye falls off the second Cotto punches on it?

This is a serious question. What will the commission do if the eye gets bad in the fight? Will they just stop it? I mean, Margarito's best chance of winning is in the later part of the fight. I think it's very likely that they will stop this fight too early.

The better point is if Cotto starts tagging him in that eye and causes damage I can very well see a quick stoppage due to possibly a hypersensitive commission.

If I'm in Cotto's corner I bring out the jab and laser direct it at that eye. That does two things: potentially it causes real and serious damage and maybe more importantly it makes Margarito paranoid of getting hit there and allows Cotto to exploit other opportunities. If Cotto fights smart this should be an easy victory.

Your eye can still receive damage with headgear on. Ortiz gave Oscar a black eye in sparring when Oscar was training for Pacquiao, Ward got cut above the eye during sparring.

Valero gave Oscar that black eye.....he just told people it was Ortiz.

I don't think the eye will fall out. I do think it could smashed to a pulp. Pacquiao did a job on the bone area underneath the eye. If Cotto has the killer instinct to target, damage, and destroy then it could be Margarito's last fight.
