"If I had used particular issues as excuses for loss(es) or supposedly below-par performance(s), I would've been looked upon in a lesser respect. Similarly if I had pulled out of a title fight or title defense, complaining of a bad arm or bad leg or wouldn't fight my mandatory challenger - all of which is unprofessional and not the mark of a proper champion dealing with the pressures - then I would've lost respect, no question about it."
