Would it damage his legacy?
QUESTION: If Manny only fights Floyd and gets stopped, then fights JMM and loses.....

floyd would get pac on the decision but lol at stopping him.
technically, and specifically in the counter-punching depart, floyd and marquez are just on another level than pac.
i wouldn't think it would hurt his legacy. you can't beat them all. -
It wouldn't damage it anymore than Leonard drawing with Hearns in their 2nd fight or Duran getting KO'd by Hearns and qutting against Leonard. At the end of the day, your legacy is and will always be based on your complete body of work. If Pac loses to Floyd, then JMM in a 4th fight, yea, it's not a good look, but it's not going to change what Pac has done in his career already. He along with both Floyd and JMM is certified HOF when all is said and done. Anything else after that is just debate like it is every other fighter in history.Last edited by RL_GMA; 11-21-2011, 03:24 PM.Comment

Legacies can only be written once a fighter retires. Only thing pac should worry about is making the Mayweather fight, and not leaving it up to his promoter Bob Arum.Comment

it would just show that he is past it...I think it might immediately damage it, but after a few years people would have better perspective on it and the damage would be gone as far as ATG status goes.Comment

Yes, it would hurt his legacy. In my mind, it would prove he was on steroids when he was beating De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, etc.
If either guy dominates him and he doesn't look anything like he did from 2008-2011, then that's the first thing that would come to my mind: this guy was on roids.Comment
