Did JMM need Pacquiao to be an ATG or HOF?

Without the 3 Manny fights on his resume would he still be a candidate?

We know Manny would, but wuodl JMM?

The fights JMM had that springs to mind are Chris John, 2x Juan Diaz, Katsidis, the old Cuban guy that i cant draw his name right now.

Not to be a HOF'er...IMO if you take Pac out, his resume and accomplishments were good enough to get in the HOF eventually.

But, he probably did need Pac to become arguably an ATG.

I agree, probably not a first ballot HOFer, but a HOF never the less.

yeah he is a HOF no matter what

his timing is amongst the best ever seen

if he had the reach to hit mayweather (and KFC wasn't a gutless p-ussy) it would have been a different fight

you forgot Barrera, which Marquez beat by a wider margin than Pac did

He did not have a stellar resume to be a HOF without the Manny fights. That is my opinion.

Um, no... a green Pacquiao TKO11 a prime Barerra way before JMM got his UD.
Pacquiao vs Barerra 2 was also a UD for Pac, which I think was the fight after JMM.

Hard to say, I mean how can we say who he would fought in Pac's stead?

The sum of a fighters career makes a fighter an ATG/HOF fighter not 1 fight, I mean Douglas is not an ATG just because he had the biggest upset ever.
