How much money will Cotto make on the Dec 3 fight (incl. PPV %)

Just wondering if someone knew estimated how much Cotto will make. I heard 5 mil plus a "percentage of PPV revenues" but I cant find anywhere what "percentage" the boxers get is. If they sell 1 million PPVs at $54, thats $54,000,000... how much of that would he get? Also, how does this rank dollar for dollar in terms of highest paying fights in history (I have no idea). Thanks.

well because its top rank lol, cotto is prolly getting 3 percent of the ppv money maybe 5 i dont see bob going any higher than that. floyd holds the 3 highest ppvs 130 mill gross, two in the 78 mill range. sources say pac and marquez could be number at estimates of 1.5 mill ppv who knows

He's guaranteed either 5 or 7 million, I've heard both numbers. He'll probably get another 2 in upside.

The PPV is NOT doing a million or anywhere close. 500k would be VERY good.

after every PPV over, say, 350k (not sure just guessing), cotto and margarito split it 60/40 for cotto i think? could be more in cotto's favor. . . Arum gets 27% of Cotto's revenue and 27% of margarito's for taking the risk. . . so lets say the fight sells 500k. . . Cotto and Margarito will split the profit of 150k buys. 150k(65 HD) = just round it up to 10 million for simplicity. 10 million(.60) = 6 million(.73) = about 4.5 million + Cotto's guarantee of 5 million = 9.5 million GROSS Take out taxes, trainer fee, He's walking away with a cool 5.5 million?

This is a pretty solis break down. I tweeted Dan Rafael about the number expected for Cotto to make is in the $8.5-10 million range and Margarito is $3.2-4.25 million range. Cotto is guaranteed $5million and Margarito $2.5 million but depending on upswing of PPV Buys and tickets sales and merchandise and foreign international television revenue.

Hopefully the fight stays in MSG as well because the gate is about $3.6 million right now.

I'd like to add to Uglypug's solid breakdown, that I recall that the PPV people get 50%, presumably of the PPV income. And also I recall reading that the fighters got so many (negotiated) dollars per buy of the PPV, not a percentage. This would be after a minimum number of PPV's had been sold, to protect the " house". Maybe they do it both ways, because I'm certain I read what I've just posted.

We really need a Boxingscene writer with knowledge to send in an article on this, as it always comes up.
