I want to see him against better opposition, not because I think he's great, but because now he's the WBC Middleweight champion ... I think that guys who really deserve the opportunity to challenge the champion for the belt should get that opportunity, or do you think that Manfredo deserved the chance to be the WBC MW champion?

IMO Martinez should be the official champ, he never lost the title and wants to get it back, but OK lets forget about Martinez, there are still a lot of other guys out there that deserve the chance to win the belt such as Macklin, Rubio, Lee, Proksa, hell even a fight with Darren Barker could be good after what he showed against Martinez

Felix Sturm, oh wait he doesn't say it he just does it. And he even loses to fighters who aren't even the best, but Germany loves fixing fights for him. Germany the home of Sven Ottke and Felix Sturm.

I agree, but most of them aren't the champions, they're guys who want to get the belt or guys who REALLY want to fight the best. Chavez Jr isn't the best boxer out there, IMO he's not even among the best, but if he's not willing to defend his championship against the best then he shouldn't have it.

I can't believe some people are OK with Martinez fighting Darren F'ing Barker and Julio Cesar Chavez F'ing Jr back-to-back. Really?

This is suppose to be an elite P4P level fighter and the best MW right now fighting these type of level of competition and some are OK with it? I don't get it.

Whatever....I swear I could remember how some said that Cotto ducked Martinez. But, JCC Jr saying fighting the winner of Marg-Cotto is cherrypicking on Jr side...OK.

Martinez is the official champ of the division....That has not change, whoever carries the an alphabetical soup belt doesn't mean crap. Because, fans should know who the man is in the division.

No one is saying for him to fight Manfredo level of opponents.

But, lets get this straight. Manfredo-JCC JR is damn near the same as Martinez-JCC Jr. That's how big of a mismatch that is.

You're absolutely right. Lets start calling for JCC Jr to fight the 2nd tier fighters...To be asking fight Martinez or running from Martinez is kind of pathetic and ******. That's a crappy ass fight that people are begging for.

Why do people keep asking for fighters who are not proven(JCC Jr is not a proven fighter) to fight the absolute best?

What we should start asking, begging, demanding is for up and comers to fight up and comers or contenders to fight contenders. Canelo-JCC Jr, JCC Jr-Lee, etc etc...

yeah, in an honest world he would, but sadly he won't do anything about it. sturm would beat him imo, so would alvarez. not sure how much cotto or margs have left in them but we'll see in their next fight. they should look into lee, rubio, or lemeiux though, those would be great opponents for him, but they would beat him, so nevermind...

I think Margo could beat Chavez at 160.

In fact I bet Margo would benefit from the weight.

He's truly outgrown even 154 at this point.

So I guess he's gonna give Sergio his belt back and face a 154'er then.
