At first, I didn't really think the whole issue about Juanita stepping on the foot was a big deal when the first few thread about it came up. But, having rewatched the fight last night, there were several of those moments were Juanita would step on Dumbquiao's foot and he ended up landing some eye-catching combos and it was probably those combos that won Juanita the rounds.
So, yeah, at first I didn't think the strategy of stepping on PAC's foot was a big deal, but, having been able to see the fight a second time(an added bonus was HB* gave us some new camera angles of the fight), those particular moments where he stepped on the foot and as a result had PAC off-balanced and he was able to unleash combos, that definitely played a role in winning him some rounds, since alot of those rounds were really close.
And I think alot of those incidents(stepping on the foot) were intentional, we can debate it all night long, but, it was happening all too much. And yes, I would know a thing or two about southpaws facing righties, I've sparred with alot of 'em. It is definitely one of those cheap tactics learned in the gyms.
And yes, it's inevitable that it happens between righties and lefties, however, I think Juanita's was deliberate alot of times. You could tell, in some those instances, it was deliberate, usually when a fighter accidentally steps on someone else's foot, he usually takes it off right away, but, in Juanita's case he would plant it hard and not let go and just take advantage of the situation, lmao
