Comments Thread For: Successful Homecoming For Joan Guzman, Argenis Mendez

On a night when both fighters desperately needed a win worth talking about, Joan Guzman and Argenis Mendez both delivered in uncharacteristically quick fashion Friday evening in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Former two-division champion Guzman needed less than a round to dispose of Florencio Castellano in the evening’s main event, while Mendez blasted out late replacement Alex Perez of Cuba in just two rounds. [Click Here To Read More]

Perhaps Guzman can finally be taken seriously? For years people questioned his commitment. I for one hope this is a sign of things to come and that he doesnt get tempted by fizzy drinks and junk food any time soon...

Hey haven't seen you in a while.

You are dead wrong about him, so if he's a bum, Soto must be a bigger bum. He lacks dedication, but to call him a bum is idiotic.

Guzman doesn't warrant getting a write up on boxingscene anymore.... A complete waste....that blew his chance over and over again. Let him rot like a beaten up plantain that no one wants to eat.

No... he burned his bridges and then pissed on them. Only an idiot, would take this meaningless fight seriously given the dive that the other fighter took. It was worse than the Marquez KO....
