I have lost a lot of respect for them. Ariza and Freddie talk with an arrogance that causes me to view them different now. Not only has Manny been overly hyped as a fighter, but Freddie too as a trainer.Bob Arum is the mastermind behind Manny's career and he's done a great job in putting the right opponents in front of him to make Manny look unbeatable. Arum thought that Marquez was finished as a top fighter.That's why he made the fight. All of them started believing their own hype. They forgot WHY Manny was winning so convincingly. It doesn't take a great all time great to beat Manny, it simply takes a good sound technical boxer with quick hands and a good chin to beat him. That's why the rumor was always that Manny avoided slick African American fighters. That's not really the case. He just avoids boxers that do exactly that...BOX! Arum understands fully what type of fighter he has and he understands what type of fighters will give him fits.So he avoids it. They just thought Marquez was washed up.
