    The Chin Checkers

Or should I say, the chin CHECKER, no "s". What happened? Are they truly overhyped or what.
EIGHTEEN SECONDS?? WTF. I must admit. I was big on them too. Codringtons career may be over at 21 for real.

Can a chin checker fan tell me what the deal is........

hey, it is just business...you have talented fighters...so managers and promoters do their jobs to hype them up...give them fancy nicknames, etc so these guys can make some money...

but in the end, it is up to the fighters to produce...sometimes they do...sometimes they don't...it happens...that is why we all love boxing so much...theater of the unexpected...

like Ruiz, he got caught cold early by an opponent who was out to prove something

What he said. He came out flat, wasn't expecting his opponent to be that aggressive, and ate some leather.

The worst part about the fight was what happened after the fight. Sickening how friends, family and "entourage" can stop a doctor from getting to him for over two minutes. Truly pathetic.

Well, i was at the fight last friday night, you all know how Jaidon faired, but Curtis Stevens looked very promising in his 1st rd TKO over Corey Budd.. he's now 9-0.. and im sure Jaidon will make a comeback (or hope )

A prospect getting dropped that early does not neccesarily mean that he was over hyped. Remember, that we live todays boxing world where a lose before winning the title seems to mean certain doom in the publicity department. And thats a shame. What if Henry Armstrong quit or was not allowed any exposure because of his early defeat.

There are many ways that something like that could happen. Maybe he wasnt warmed properly before stepping in. Maybe the bout before him ended abruptly and unexpectedly and he was hurried to the ring to fight. I didnt see the bouts, its just a what if. On top of that, he may have just got caught. It happens to the best of 'em sometime or another. Hell, what if he just got over confident reading his own press clippings and took a guy lightly that he should not have. There are so many possibilities. Once again, I did not see the fight nor have I even seen the fighter.

The boxing game is about hype and promotion, period. The more that the promoters can make you believe that this is the next sugar ray, the more money he will make.

One loss is just that, one loss. He may come back stronger by it or it may crush his ego and confidence. Time will tell on that. But if you believe in a man before a defeat, dont stop believing. Because there will always be one guy out there with your number or he showed up at the right time, thats just the way that the game goes.

Now begins his true test, can he come back and more importantly will Dame Dash have him on the Ultimate Hustler anymore?

sometimes it's good for a young fighter to have a loss on his record, it gives him something to think about, to remind him not to go into a fight overconfident

man, that ko was ****ing brutal. green's seemingly not giving a **** attitude was brutal too. yeah, it's boxing, but that guy needs to show a bit more compassion after a ko like that. classless. truly classless.

can someone name me another fighter who got knocked completely unconscious in under 30 seconds, was slumped through the ropes, out cold for 5 minutes, left the ring on a stretcher and spent the night in the hospital that went on to become a champion??
