In July, Sergio Diaz, Margarito's co-manager, told ESPN.com that Crandall told Margarito that the eye problem "was very fixable and not a career-ending injury. Antonio had pretty much accepted the fact that he would have surgery and have to retire. But they did this different kind of surgery that day, a half-hour surgery. They removed the cataract and put in a new lens. His vision is a whole lot better and will continue to get better."

It's pretty clear his vision sucks and is going to affect the Cotto fight for sure.

this is sad as i was making plans for this..im just happy that i didnt buy tickets or reserved a hotel for it...but i gotta commend the nysac on this matter...they are protecting a fighter who clearly does not want to do it himself...they prolly wouldn't be in this situation if the cornermen, ringside docs, and the ref did that when pacquaio was beating him half to death over 12 rounds..no one found it a little strange that margarito is being thrown into a fight of this magnitude after all those injuries without a warmup? that eye is not 100%...margarito has that dead eye look that vasquez and brewster had..arum is trying to cash him out plain and simple
