This is the ultimate blunder by Arum and Top Rank. This is completely inexplicable that they would SELL OUT MSG... before Margarito had his license. Arum has been in the promotions game since the early Ali days, that's c. 50 years in the business but he couldn't figure out that maybe they should wait until the license issue was ironed out before selling tickets? They took a horrible gamble and it's blown up in their face. I think it might be time for Arum to retire and let his son-in-law take the reigns, the old guy is slipping.

          Inexplicable.

I just don't understand how, Bob Arum of all people, for as long as he's done this...how did this happen? Clearly, past his prime at 80 years old.

At least they're not planning on replacing Margarito like some have predicted.

As they said in a previous article, it's common for the fighters to not be licensed until right before the fight. Margarito's eye injury threw some salt in Arums game, but he was hoping he could push it through.

Arum just left a lot of furious people in NYC. Completely unprofessional of him and this gives boxing another black eye it doesn't need.
