Political Protest Against a Logo On JMM Trunks

MEXICO CITY - Juan Manuel Marquez says that judges stole the fight against Filipino Manny Pacquiao. But the main left party in Mexico considers in turn the Aztec boxer shorts have violated the election law.

The ********ic Revolution Party (PRD) filed a complaint with the electoral authorities, after Marquez wore his pants printed on the logo of the political group that ruled Mexico without interruption for 71 years, during the fight against Pacquiao, the Saturday before in Las Vegas.

On Wednesday, the PRD released copies of the complaint a day before the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE).

The complaint notes that the use of the shield of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) violated a ban on electioneering on the eve of elections and a ban on proselytizing acts abroad. The document adds that many viewers of the fight were Mexican and that the fight was by many viewers tuned in Mexico.

"We realized the logo of the PRI, which is a promotion party in the world, undermining against the equity in the elections in our country," says the complaint, which asks the authorities to take measures to prevent similar events occur in the future. The IFE has the power to impose fines and other penalties for violating the election law.

The fight was broadcast in Mexico on Saturday night, hours before the election of governor, legislators and mayors in the state west-central Michoacán.

The PRI ruled the country from 1929 to 2000, when he lost the presidential election.

Neither Marquez nor the PRI have explained why the pants were printed the shield of the party. Marquez lost the fight against Pacquiao, and considered a "theft" the decision of the judges, which has drawn criticism from many Mexicans in social networks.

Instead, the candidate of the PRI won gubernatorial elections in Michoacan.
