anyway as for this fight...it is too soon Broner...the dude just turned 22, why are people pushing him to move up and weight and all this stuff, let him dominate his division even if it is a weak division now since Burns RAN...I mean moves up in weight LOL, he has other up and comers in his division I would love to see him fight like Eloy Perez, Diego Magdaleno and the two fighters from Japan: Uchiyama and Ao...even though I think would beat them all...anything can happen, I would like to see him clean out and unify his division first...THEN MOVE UP

Broner, Mikey Garcia and Gary Russell Jr IMO will be...THE FUTURE...I think all 3 are SPECIAL FIGHTERS but fans should allow them to work their way up and not try to RUSH THEM INTO BIG FIGHTS...the Big Fights Will Come

as for Gamboa, enough with fighting these small time fighters and forget fighting PROSPECTS, he turns 30 next month so i tis time to go after the BIG MONEY AND THE BIG MATCH UPS...he will have to make that leap to 135 and do a match with Rios which has been talked about...but Gamboa should probably take a fight a 135 first with someone like maybe Antonio DeMarco
Hey man, I have noticed you like the Cuban fighters, I do as well. I have always meant to ask you, how good do you think Teofilo Stevenson would have been had he defected???

Anyways, as anyone can tell, I am a Floyd fan more than any other fighter, but I admit I thought Floyd lost 115-113 to Castillo the first fight. I am objective.

I'd still like to see Gamboa-Broner if Gamboa stops at 130 for one fight. It's the biggest fight at 130, especially since Ricky Burns moved up. If Gamboa only fights once at 130 and moves up to 135, I would like to see him grab a title at 135 going into a fight against Rios. Maybe he could fight DeMarco and win a title, making a fight with Rios that much bigger.

With that said, I think Broner would have a pretty good shot at beating Gamboa if he can counter and time Gamboa well. Gamboa has decent wins over Ponce De Leon, Salido, Solis, and Barros. And Broner has good wins over Litzau and Ponce De Leon. It would be the best fight at 130. Even if Broner lost to Gamboa, he's still young and could come back strong at 130 or move up to 135, where there's still Linares, DeMarco, Guerrero, Rios, Marquez, etc.

Too bad Linares lost to DeMarco. I would have loved to see Gamboa-Linares or Rios-Linares at 135.

Obviously you're a fan of Guillermo as well. Would you like to see Donaire-Rigondeaux at 122 once Donaire gets a fight in at 122??? I mean, Rigo will probably beat Ramos in December to collect the title, and he's already 31, so he needs some big fights. In my opinion, Donaire-Rigo should happen once Donaire gets a fight in a 122. It's a big match up and time is not on Guillermo's side.

Theres a risk gamboa loses to broner. And i doubt toprank takes that chance.
Toprank would rather gamboa lose to rios.

regarding broner, garcia and russel jr etc...if these guys are gonna be on hbo making the big bucks, they should earn it like everyone else. when you "build" these guys up and let them have showcase fights for big money, they dont wanna step up and fight real competition for similar purses. they get too greedy and start pricing themselves out. boxing is about seeing who the best fighter is, not who has the best gimmick and million dollar smile. i swear, most people on here are bigger fans of the business of boxing as opposed to the sport.

if these guys are all gonna be on hbo/ppv they should be fighting each other. otherwise, take it to espn 2 or solo boxeo

Teófilo was way before my time but of course I studied up on him and heard stories from Uncles who was in Cuba during his time and actually he did have a chance to go pro and fight Ali for $1 Million or something like that but he declined it "one million dollars is nothing compared to the love of eight million Cubans?" or something like that...but his style was SIMILAR TO ALI of course and he kinda looked like Ali:

^Of course people who was in Cuban during his time are going to say "HE WAS THE GREAT HEAVYWEIGHT EVER" and "he would have BEAT ALI, FRAZIER, Foreman and all of them" lol I wouldn't go that far

I think he would of had a great Pro Career and a Hall Of Fame Fighter at least, don't know if he would have beatin Ali, Foreman, Frazier and all of them but I think he would have stood out in that ERA because of his SKILLS and Speed

as for Rigondeaux vs Donaire...not even being Bias...but I think Rigondeaux body shots would TAKE AWAY Donaire's Power...not saying who would win or lose but I do like Rigondeaux chances while others are talking as if it Donaire is just going to come out and KO Rigondeaux...I am a big fan of Donaire also but he has to actually LAND WITH THAT POWER to KO Rigondeaux and that is not going to be easy

Yeah, I think Rigo definitely has the skill set to stop Donaire. I like Donaire, but I htink he's a little over hyped after beating Montiel, just my opinion. He's good all the way around, but it'd be interesting to see himtested, and I can guarantee Rigo would cause him problems. Rigo has the speed, power, and footwork to keep up with Donaire.

Yeah, Stevenson was a little before my time, but had he defected in the 70's, I htink he could have been an ATG Heavyweight, having watched his olympic fights. He was born in 1952, so he would have been 10 years younger than Ali. He would have never had to fight a prime Ali (64-67) or a prime Frazier (68-73), but I think he had the tools to beat a past prime-still good Ali and a past prime-still good Frazier. Not saying he would have, but it'd be close. It would have been interesting to see how well he would have done in the late 70's, when Ali was way past it, against Lyle, Shavers, Holmes, Norton, etc. I really think he could have been an ATG.
