lol, pacquiao doesn't cut off the ring, simple as that, he doesn't even force fighters to the ropes, they go willingly, whether due to getting mentally imposed or physically too tired to move their feet

he likes to get his hits in from a distance, as far as he can despite his small reach

i dont see it as an issue, he usually catches you on the turn anyway

Triangle theories, etc I know you know..

For Floyd to win comfortably, he would have to jab more throwing more combos to keep Manny unset and distant.

Manny needs to stay busy, stay in the pocket. His angled punches will benefit him in the inside.

Whose faster (footwork and punchwise) will be determined in the first couple of rounds. If the pace of the fight is fast Manny wins, if slow Floyd. IMHO

Floyd is a bigger, faster, stronger version of Marquez. Pacquiao was supposed to be such an "improved" fighter since Pac vs Marquez 2, but that clearly was proven wrong.

Imagine Floyd in there with Pac.
the only thing that Marquez and Floyd have in common is that they both like to counter punch.. their styles are nothing alike.

The presumptions that people are making are not unfounded though. The evidence that the presumptions are based on are the Pacquiao-Marquez fights. Nobody knows exactly what will happen in the ring with Mayweather and Pacquiao until they get there, but it's reasonable to assume that Pacquiao will have trouble with Mayweather based on how he has looked against Marquez. You want to dismiss those assumptions because you want to believe that Pacquiao has a good chance of beating Mayweather. You're allowing emotion to override common sense.

This happens all of the time my man. If Mayweather would have struggled with Ortiz, and had trouble dealing with him being a southpaw who has power and applies pressure then people would naturally assume that he'd have even more trouble with Pacquiao. That would be a reasonable assumption no?

Sorry, but it is nonsensical to try and dismiss the idea that Pacquiao would have trouble with Mayweather based on his 3 fights with Marquez. Stop thinking as a Pacquiao fan and try think objectively. You're speaking from a fanboy point of view, not that of a neutral boxing fan who's predicting how 2 fighters would match up in the ring.
