My, possibly final, Pacquiao-Marquez Scorecard

I think it was there, it's just I had a thread with a break down on the rounds in which, for whatever reason the mods moved or deleted. What I posted was what I was able to recover.
FWIW I was pretty hot as I don't understand that when someone breaks down their viewpoint in an intelligent manner, whether you agree or not, it gets deleted.
I'll give the mods the benefit of the doubt as I feel they were just trying to clean the main page up and my thread got wiped with the countless troll threads created after the fight.Comment

Your right. I actually think you may have been correct in giving it to Pacquiao and I'll have to rewatch rounds 1-4 again.Comment

rewatch round 4, youd see JMM didnt land any clean jabs, while pacquiao landed 5 and was very efficientThis is all I could find as my thread was merged
After rewatching it...your right Marquez won round 8.
round 9
solid combo by Marquez prior to 1:44
solid combo by Pacquiao around 1:35 (Manny landed the cleaner/harder shots in this one compared to Marquez which were partially blocked)
exchange around the 1:30 mark in which Manny got the better of JMM.
Manny winning round up to this point
exhange around the 1:15 mark in which both had moments, but Manny followed up with some nice shots, around the 1:11 mark to follow up.
nice uppercut by Manny at 1:07 mark
nice exchange by both in which both blocked as well as landed on each other....neither got the better of the other.
Nice uppercut by Marquez at the 30 second mark. Threw combo but shots were picked off, with the exception being the uppercut by Marquez.
**Marquez closes the distant but Manny still winning up till the last 30 seconds of round***
25 second mark...Manny answers back. Throws wild combo with a straight left landing and a hook earlier in the combo.
ends the round with both envolved in an exchange in which neither got the better of the other.
Manny wins round 9. This is without me factoring in his ring generalship and how he pressed the action.
================================================== ======
scorecard:
pac 1
jmm 2
jmm 3
pac 4
jmm 5
pac 6
jmm 7
jmm 8*
pac 9
pac 10*
pac 11*
pac 12
Pac 115-113
BTW I had a break down of the 10th and 11th but I cannot find it, so I assume the mods may have deleted it.
jmm may have had the the most memorable power punch at the last ten seconds of the round where it landed flush on pac but pacquiao landed more power punches since the beginning of the round
defensively it was pac's round, he control the pace and made jmm fight his fightLast edited by KFC(Fforfloyd); 11-15-2011, 10:39 PM.Comment

Punch stats aside, in terms of ring generalship and effective aggression that must be scored in Marquez's favour.Comment

My got deleted to for just putting a new out about amir khan saying he rewatch the fight and thought that Pacquiao won by 2 points..Good **** bro.
Prior to my thread getting deleted I posted my round by round breakdown along with time marks and comments as to why I favored one fighter over the other in that particular round.
Regardless of who you thought one, to give a thorough breakdown along with timemarks is always commendable as it shows your debating your points with logic.
I dont know why administrator would delete that. There was no cursing or anything involve and I wouldn't be surprise if this gets deleted too!Comment

Here's what I saw on the 2nd round for Marquez.
2:41 it look like it landed but pacquiao golves is touching his face so everytime marquez lands on
the gloves, Pacquiao's head bounces off
1:38 Straight right to the face and left hook to the body
1:22 Job to the face
0:53? Jim Lampley said body shot and landed an uppercut. (Non of it landed)
0:43 Straight right to the face
0:03 Jab landed on pacquiao
I got Pacquiao winning by 2 or 1 rounds but I don't see how Marquez got only two punch landed on Pacquiao..
PS. In this rouond, Marquez landed 5 shots and most of the other shot that looked like it landed well it didn't. It was an illusiong because Pacquiao's gloves are always touching his own face and when Marquez lands it looks like a hit.Comment

Great unbiased opinion.Great post man. It's nice to see other members on here use logic and reason as opposed to basing things on their emotions and favorite fighters.
Personally, when I watched the fight the first time I had it 116-112 for Pacquiao. When I rewatched it by myself the next morning I scored it 115-113 for MArquez. Very VERY hard fight to score. My overall view from the fight watching it a again a few times is that MArquez controlled the pace, and overall won most of the exchanges as well as landed the cleaner, more effective combos. That being said, there were some close rounds where both guys had their moments, and I think that's where Pac was able to score a few rounds. I feel he simply outworked Marquez in those moments, especially in the later rounds. Generally, I feel that te first few rounds were close, Marquez won the middle rounds, and Pac eeked out some of the later rounds. So really, as people have said, it's just based off of what you look for. From what I saw, it seems to me like Marquez was able to win most of the exchanges, land cleaner combos, and really controlled most of the fight, which I think is where he may have won it. Very close and competitive fight, I can't complain with either winner. But to be honest, as a guy who thought Marquez won the last two, I was hoping he'd take this one. Regardless, great fight.
As for people calling Manny a hype job. If anyone's seen the last two fights you know how well these two match up. Most of us didn't think Marquez would do too well because of the weight, but he proved Saturday night that he can hang at Welterweight, so why not? I'm not convinced that Manny's any less the fighter he was prior to this fight. Styles make fights, you lose some you win some. You look good in some you look like **** in others, this is Boxing, anything can happen on any given night. Do I think he'll beat Mayweather if the fight? Nope, I think Mayweather wins a decision ins a highly competitive fight, but to completely count out Pac now is ridiculous.
Round 4 for Marquez = LOL (I'm not even joking)1. pac
2. JMM
3.JMM
4.JMM
5.JMM
6.JMM
7.JMM
8.JMM
9.pac
10.JMM
11.pac
12. pac
marquez.
go back & watch each one of the rounds I marked down for JMM (so that we can cut through the trolling) in realty the fight wasn't that close (not to the point of not knowing the winner) JMM won by at least 2 points.Comment

Haven't rewatched it. The impression in my mind still is Pac being tit for tat with JMM for at least 7 rounds, with JMM outclassing or clearly winning three others and Pac stealing two late. Overall JMM landed the cleaner punches and had more impressive moments yet Pac may have stolen at least 6 rounds. I had him win 6 with the first round being a draw after the first viewing.
Wouldn't be surprised if I had it for JMM after watching it again. Though I find it hard right now to see either guy winning 8 rounds.Comment
