Arum says numbers are tracking 1.5 million PPV Buys

But this is about Pacquiao, and where exactly he goes from here. Arum says he would like to make a rematch. There are not many reasons not to. The atmosphere in Las Vegas for fight week was electric. Thousands of Filipino's and Mexicans swarmed to the city. Their passion was palpable. The arena was completely sold out and the gate ($11.7 million) was just a shade under the $12 million Pacquiao pulled in against Oscar De La Hoya. Although any projections on pay per view buys are several days away, Arum says the tracking numbers suggested 1.5 million buys are not out of reach. A fourth fight (and a fifth, and a sixth) would be a competitive cash cow.

Pac is the real cash cow of the sport.

1.5 mil.$ estimate is awsome considering a rather ****ty undercard (well the Prescott fight actually proved to be relatively interesting after all). However, the only thing left for him is to fight and Beat Mayweather, and that fight would make record numbers for sure.

Good and maybe 1 of the last great PPV numbers MP will make.

Cause think time is ticking for a retirement and to concentrate on his political life.

How many times will we believe these estimates? Seems to me that the real numbers, in every fight, always end up 300-500K less than the projections.

the hype on this fight was pretty big. it has to AT LEAST hit 1.2 mil....

if by some slim chance it does do 1.5mil, that would be amazing.... too bad pac looked like crap.

1.5 million prediction from Bob Arum probably means about 750K actual buys.

I mean seriously. Does Arum think the public is that ****** to believe those insane numbers?

Anything comming from Arum is BS. Even the story says that Pac brought in 12 million at the gate against ODLH. Didn't know that he was the only star fighting that night and that Oscar didn't have no star power.
