Although Pac's run has been impressive, I think what is happening to him now is just as the title says ""A case of chickens coming home to roost".
Pac became the darling of the media with his feel good story of coming from a poor third world country, having very little education, becoming a Senator while being humble and kind outside the ring, and at the same time being a Lion inside of the ring. But, the last few year, in my opinion, Pac has cheapened his legacy, beating at least a few guys that were past it or tailor made(for the money and adoration), not to mention, setting himself up for the current situation, by not challenging himself against fighters with styles(and ages) what would help him truly improve as a fighter. ODH, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley are fights that made him a lot of money, but in NO WAY prepared him for a challenge of fighting Marquez again and most CERTAINLY did not prepared him to face Mayweather. In my opinion, Roach, Arum and the his fans knowledgeable about boxing are very much to blame. Everyone was there to tell him how wonderful he was , co-sign his fights and call him great for doing so. Instead of taking the harder road and fighting guys who's style he had least might've had problems with or were not damaged, drained, or past it, everyone continued to watch and praise while Pac won the fights that he was set up to win and got his millions. Continually thinking of him as almost invincible. If that were not the case, this whole situation would not be such a big deal. For whom Pac was made out to be, there is ZERO reason why he should've had ANY problem walking through Marquez last Saturday night. But because people blindly followed and saw almost every situation with blinders on, the chicken are coming home to roost.
I don't agree with a lot of things that FMJ does and I feel that he has certainly not lived up to his potential as well, but I also know that Floyd can get away with things that Pac can't because of his skills, and ring IQ.
