amir is a good fighter, but i never thought his friendship with pac was real..
i dont know , amir strikes me as a snake (im still a fan of what he can do in the ring btw) but i think the only reason why this boy is not talking **** about pac is becuase they are stablemates....he's like one of those sneaky bastards that would try to **** your girl when your not lookin kinda friend ..i think pac knows this too
he knows that roach would stick with pac if they had to fight...he wants to be the # 1 star pupil of roach and want to get the shot of what many people wanted pac to do...he wants to be the one to do it.
either that or im wrong and khan is just really sincere....but amir has that aura to me....
Khan is absolutely right. Manny is done. Arum has ran out of bums to put in front of him and he would be forced to fight the top guys out there. Fighting Mayweather should be his cash out fight. There's no shame in losing to Floyd and then retiring. Arum is going to make the grave mistake of putting him in the ring with a hungry champion like Bradley. People can say what they want about Tim, but he has the tools to beat Manny. Plus, he is young and in his prime, something Manny hasn't dealt with in years.
He would be a fool to fight Amir Khan. Amir would be a nightmare for Manny at this stage. There's nothing left for Manny. Its best he goes out losing to another future hall of famer in Floyd than to go out losing to Bradley or Khan or Rios. Arum has done a great job with Manny. He put the right opponents in front of him to make Manny look unbeatable. It has worked for the last 3 or 4 years. But those type of guys have ran out now. Manny did his job and battered those type opponents. But those days are over. Marquez has put out the blueprint on how to beat him.
If Arum has any respect for Manny and his accomplishments and all that he's done for TR, then he needs to make the fight with Floyd. This will give Manny his biggest payday ever and at least allows him to go out with dignity.
I am one of those who truly admires Manny as a fighter. He's been a great champion and great to the sport of boxing. But...I am one who also believes that Manny was using performance enhancing drugs. I think he started around the time of the second Morales fight. Once Floyd and his team made the accusations, he backed off of them. You could see it in the Mosley fight and in this last fight with Marquez. That extra pop in his punch is gone and also that confidence is missing. He has that same look in his eyes that Margarito had in his fight with Shane after he had to rewrap his hands. That, which gave him his edge in fights, is now gone. And his last few performances has showed it.
So Manny is back to being human again. There are no more plodders or faded fighters to fight. Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan, Sergio Martinez, and Timothy Bradley, are the only guys that the public will demand Manny to fight. He will not get respect fighting anyone else. And its sad but true, all 4 of those guys beat Manny at this stage of his career!!!

you beat me to it, hehe. I see this as Amir getting tired of being 2nd priority at camp. He probably wants Manny gone so then Roach and Ariza can focus on him more, plus it will make him the next big international boxing star after Pac.
Khan urges Pacquiao to consider his future after controversial win over Marquez

Amir Khan is advising the great Manny Pacquiao to retire sooner rather than later or risk losing his cherished status as the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Britain’s world light-welterweight champion was a ringside commentator at Pacquiao’s narrow escape from defeat by Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night and became increasingly worried for his celebrated friend and spar-mate.
As controversy raged over the majority decision with which Pacquiao held on to his world welterweight crown – a verdict which the Mexican and all his countrymen damned as another great robbery in their close-fought trilogy – Khan said: ‘Manny doesn’t need to keep taking that one more fight which might end up taking some of the gloss of his great legacy as the best boxer in the world.

‘He’s got away with it against Marquez. Even I had him losing by two rounds. He’s my friend and I’m happy for him that he won. But for his sake we have to be honest. He would not beat Floyd Mayweather on this performance.
‘He is a legend already but he has to be careful now. He has some thinking to do. He has so much on his plate, what with his political work as a Congressman back home in the Philippines and everything else.’
Khan spoke up even though the earlier Pacquiao hangs up the gloves, the less chance of him landing a monster pay night against the thriller from Manila.
The pair have always insisted they will not fight each other but Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum has given the first serious indication here that it could happen.
Controversial: Some commentators felt Marquez deserved at least a draw
Pacquiao might feel all the more inclined to do so after these comments from Khan, who is beginning to believe that he could defeat his 32-year-old friend and mentor.
When I asked him if he, as well as Mayweather, might beat the Pacquiao we watched in the MGM Grand Garden, this was Khan’s diplomatic answer:
‘Well, let me just say that in our sparring lately he’s not the one getting the better of it.’
Confirmation of that came on Monday when sources in Pacquiao’s camp revealed that he has decided not to spar with Khan again.
Arum was lining up Pacquiao for a spring fight against alternative light-welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, who backed off a unification fight with Khan to box on the undercard here.
Bradley stopped fading veteran ex-champ Joel Casamayor but Khan would prefer Pacquiao to go ahead with the arrangement rather than a fourth war with Marquez. Khan says: ‘Of course Manny would beat Bradley, who would be easy for me. But it’s never going to be easy for Manny against Marquez because their clash of styles works against him.’
Nevertheless Pacquiao and his esteemed trainer Freddie Roach feel obliged to offer Marquez yet another re-match, with Roach saying: ‘If it happens I will to do my job a little better, I guess. I fully expected Manny to knock him out this time but we still have to find a way to overcome his counter-punching.’
Pacquiao insists he wants to settle the arguments once and for all and Arum wants to put on the fourth fight, not least to scotch the ‘ridiculous’ allegations that the scoring was fixed, adding: ‘The fights between these two are so close that the rounds are very difficult to score. A lot of people thought Marquez won yet the computer stats show Manny throwing and landing more punches.’
Confident: Marquez thought he had done enough to beat Pacquiao

To help rebut the accusation of fight rigging, they might coax Marquez out of his threatened retirement, at 38, by offering him home advantage in Mexico on May 5. That is a national day there and potentially another huge pay day, with the Aztec Stadium in Mexico City a sure-fire 120,000 sell out.
Khan, meanwhile, is heading for Washington on December 10 and a testing title defence against American Lamont Peterson in his home town.
That marks his return to Sky Sports. Then, unless Bradley becomes available, he will move up to light-welterweight in preparation for challenging Mayweather himself.
However, the new Sky deal is predicated on three fights in America, thereby making it unlikely he will be granted his wish for a homecoming fight in England.
lol a friend won't say this thing in public a whisper in the ear more likely. amir has an agenda.
Pac has 1 or 2 fights left in him. Amir just want to take the limelight away from him. Not a true friend for sure..
Geez, If I was a real friend I'll keep it with the family. This guy barking and making himself look like he knows boxing more than manny. He learned a lot from being stable mates with pac. And this guy just blurts out negative comments and he is self admitted friend of manny. Defintely has an agenda and wants to kick pac out of the curb to get the attention to him next.
If your a real friend. Knowing you almost move like he is. emulating pac's style.. You shouldn't even be barking like that.. Pathetic. Not a real friend.. Agenda is written all over him.
I say get your jaw fixed steel plating perhaps??
Wow, Khan is talking a lot of **** lately. IF he were his friend, he would say this privately, not publicly.
Me thinks he is trying to get Pacquiao out of the way, so he can be the # 1 guy to challenge Mayweather in a Big Money fight. That or he wants a piece of Manny.
