Tattoo's on Boxers

The tattoo thread inspired me to create this one. It's not specifically about boxing but the tattoo's on boxers. Saying that, I can make it boxing related and ask why so many boxers like to have their body all tatted up. I quite like tattoos and I've seen some really nice ones on boxers and some really terrible ones a la Maidana's face thing (wtf is that thing?!). My all time favourite boxing tattoo set though has to be Ricky Burns' - I wish I had better pictures of his right side:

Rickey Burns' tats look like jailhouse scratch. You obviously have no real idea regarding the quality of tattoos. Kessler's work is fairly ****ty too.
And I think your referring to Maidana's portrait tattoo on his chest. A "face tattoo" would generally describe a tattoo on a person's face.
