Creed was not prime, he was past it by then. And any respectable ref would have stopped either of the first two Creed fights with the shape Balboa's eyes were in.

I don't think it's a question of Drago being too green for Rocky, I think it's more of a question of whether or not both Creed and Balboa were highly overrated.

He was breed for boxing, coached and conditioned (not without controversy) by the best the USSR had to offer, to say he was a NOOB is totally is misleading. creed was still very close to prime during the first balboa fight but was on his way down.

if you remember, Creed Promotions were looking at names of random bums from a list and thought "Italian Stallion" sounded cool.

therefore, he didn't do any serious preparation whatsoever and focused on the promotion but still managed to beat Balboa
