Samuel Peter to fight Yanqui Diaz on the Mayweather card

According to Boxrec, these fights are happening on the same card on 1/22. I havnt seen Diaz fight, but he is 13-1(8KOs) and he is the guy who KO'd Juan Carlos Gomez in the first round. He also beat Micheal Simms and Vaughn Bean, former opponent of Evander Holyfield, Micheal Moorer, and Vitaly Klischko. Diaz's loss came against 24-1 Tony Thompson. I'm assuming HBO will show this fight. It should be a good one. Peter is smart to get back on TV again a month after his brutal KO over Williams. I'm looking for Diaz to get KOd aswell. I think Peter has got a bright future ahead of him. I gotta say, Nigerians can really punch.

I've seen Yanqui Diaz plenty of times and he's a good heavyweight prospect as well. This will be Peters toughest opponent yet because Diaz wont be afraid to launch his big right hand against the shorter Peter.I'm just surprised these two are fighting each other so fast, when they're both currently on a hot streak, definetly a dangerous fight for both.Reminds me of the upcoming Ouma-Jantuah fight, dangerous but potentially exciting matchup with the winner moving on to bigger and better fights....Cant wait

I slightly favor Yanqui Diaz because unlike Peters last opponent Jeremy Williams,Diaz is a true Heavyweight with KO power.Diaz is 6'4 with a 84inch reach,so you gotta believe Samuel Peters chin will finally be checked when they fight. That said, alot of questions about these two Heavyweight prospects will be answered January 22nd.

How does Jeremy Williams not have KO power? I thought Peters was stepping up in the quality of his opposition, but this is a clear step down.

This should be a pretty exciting fight! It should end early! Just the way a heavyweight fight should end! I like Diaz but if Peter hits him with those big shots... Wow! Should be entertaining.
