No clue at all, tried to have Manny box a boxer. That's plain crazy or delusional on Freddy's part. I'm assuming its Freddy who has instructed him to box like that, as like I've said in a couple of posts already, Pac is not a boxer, he is a fighter and should be allowed to fight in his natural manner... quick flurries, overwhelming opponents and coming at angles, that's it..Then let the chips lay where they fall. If Freddy doesn't get it, then Pac needs to change trainers obviously.

in addition you can see that Manny sees the opening well last night, but doesnt pull the trigger, and to add more to it, he looked extremely glove shy and was not as willing to engage as we normally see him.
The irony of it all. Prior to last night, the whole reason many of us(even Dinamita fans) thought that PAC was gonna win so easily was because it was JMM that was faded, much older and not used to fighting above 140lbs.

Yes, Dumbquiao is somewhat past his prime, but, Dinamita is even more faded. I mean, did you see how slow he was. Yet, it was the 38 year old, scar-tissues and all, who was able to unleash combos throughout the fight.

I think last night had to do more with Dumbquiao's ring IQ being not so great, rather than him being past prime.

PAC did admit that Dinamita hurt him several times in the fight, and that's why I think he was tentative and the it really didn't help that he kept allowing himself to get caught by moving in the wrong direction, again, that's not being past prime, that's just being incompetent on his part.

Floyd Sr. was actually one of the considered trainers for Manny while Roach was training De la Hoya against Jr. True story.

Your right, I say the Margarito fight took alot out of Pac. All those head shots from a much bigger guy has had an effect on Pac's accuracy and reflexes. You could see it in the Mosley fight where pac would throw a combo while Shane was on the ropes and graze Mosley's head instead of nailing him on the chin like in the Cotto fight. Pac was often first to the punch but because his accuracy has gone out the window JMM was able to connect much cleaner every time. Pac looks like damaged goods and just like every fighter who gets older, they get more n more gun shy. There were so many instances where Manny just stood there with his hands up n let JMM launch off a combo when in his younger days he would of thrown a few of his own in there at the same time. And when i say younger days I mean fight wise not age wise.

but but but... i thought pac was evolved...

Roach had done such an awesome job transforming him from the 2008 Pac to the 2009 Pac who was the goat together with SRR.

And to answer the thread question. Nah, don't dump Roach. Although, I think they need to get rid of some of their tactics, it's been proven over 36 rounds that some of the moves Roach has planned simply doesn't work.

for example: The foundation of their plan on how to fight Dinamita was to counter the counter-puncher. I think this is their biggest mistake. It's no different than the old boxing saying, "never hook w/ a hooker".

Atleast, the way they wanted to carry it out was all wrong. They wanted PAC to lead a lil bit to draw Dinamita's lead out. The problem is, once they're able to draw JMM's lead out, PAC would step back too much and he ends up being out of range and the countering the counter-puncher is no longer available.

Instead, what they should do, once they are able to make the counter-puncher lead, he should stay in the pocket and unleash, get into as much exchanges as he can, there's more risk involved, but, we all heard Nacho last night, he kept advising JMM not to trade, but if PAC never backed off as much as he did, it would've forced JMM to trade, and we all know PAC is more likely to come out winning those clashes

Specific counters: nullify Dinamita's counter lead right by sidestepping to the left and coming back w/ a left. I have never seen this particular move be effective at all, PAC tried it in all three fights and not once has it been executed cleanly. on paper it seems simple, but, the angle and the time it takes to execute it takes too long, imo.

PAC should've jabbed more often and doubled up on it. Hardly any head movement last night. It seemed he was thinking too much on not getting caught rather than just letting the fight flow.

                      Won't make a difference.

                      Pacquiao will only look worse.

And if he fought Mayweather next. It'd just be used as a scapegoat. Even though it wouldn't matter if he had Freddie with him either.
