    Meh.

I understand your point about Cotto being strong enough to be his own man, and not worry about what others' think of him. And I respect that, I really do. But any boxing fan knows that in this sport, the "I'm willing to die in there" attitude is pretty much a prerequisite.

That's what seperates the men from the boys, so to speak.

I liked Cotto's point of view regarding "dying in the ring" discussion. Overall, it was a good Face Off.

Also, Margarito saying that he didn't feel anything when he fought against Cotto, was just a ****** attempt to look tough.

But Cotto saying that connotates that he's got an Ortiz-like mentality.

I think he's proven in the ring that he's not that fragile mentally. He's definitely not as willing as Margarito, but the connotation that comment conveys and what Cotto has show in the past are different IMO.

Basically, the perception that Cotto's comments will give people are and never have been indicative of his performance in the ring.(for the most part)

          Without a doubt.

Logically, I understand why he said what he said : Dude has a loving family, adoring children, a lifestyle that's paid for, etc... So I see where he's coming from there.

And as you say, his mentality inside the ring, has been anything but weak in the past.

I don't read too much into his comments, I know he'll be prepared on the 3rd, and he'll do what he does best. I'm just saying it's not a popular comment for a boxer (of all things) to say. And especially odd when you yourself have never demonstrated anything in the ring that could even be perceived as "mental weakness".

I liked the Hopkins/Pascal faceoff better.

Totally agree, I wish he didn't say that. But like you said, it's like a cardinal sin in boxing to say something like that and now people are acting like he's mentally weaker than he's actually physically shown. So I'm with you in that I don't really put too much stock in to what he said.

And I also liked Hopkins/Pascal faceoff more...I actually felt this was disappointing compared to the hype. Still one of the better ones though.

In all fairness to Cotto, he took a knee out because he simply could not breath and was probably hoping for a few sec break... His corner threw in the towel. Let me remind you that Margarito's wraps are suspect to begin with. His other loss may unfortunately be to a guy who hates * blood tests and is beating men who weigh 170lbs... funny business this boxing game.

Relax, Cotto didn't word himself right. He obviously meant he would fight a smarter fight, not a reckless one. Margarito has his style and he has his. Cotto is a warrior, c'mon yall. Get real.

Cotto will target that eye and it will be stopped within 8 rounds, Margo had to pull out his best performance ever in what was his defining moment, without fiborous plaster in his wraps he's just alfred angulo's punch bag brother, Cotto won't make the same mistakes again you think Manny hasn't devised a game plan, its simple hit that eye to the point where his face will almost collapse. war Cotto!
