    1. NUMBER OF PUNCHES LANDED: Manny threw more and landed more punches. Since no one landed a big shot enough to hurt the other, this became an amateur-kind-of-fight where it needed to be scored on the number of punches connected.
    2. AGGRESSION: Manny was the aggressor all night. Look at the fight again. Manny was chasing Marquez all night as Marquez was backpedalling throughout the fight. If Manny did not attack there would have been no fight.
    3. RING GENERALSHIP: Manny controlled the tempo. The fight was dictated by Manny. He was moving and using his footwork while Marquez was waiting. Those who are saying that marquez gave Manny a boxing clinic are just plain dumb. What clinic? Manny dictated the fight. He made it exciting when he wanted to. He pressed the actions all night. He countered Marquez when he needed to. Marquez was so hesitant to even come forward.
    4. CHAMPION vs CHALLENGER: The challenger needs to take the belt. It should not be handed out. Marquez did not do enough to take the belt. If this alone was the basis of scoring a tight round, it should have been 10:2 rounds in favor of Pacquiao.
    5. CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS: Marquez did not do jack in the later rounds. Both did not land anything of significant in the championship rounds but at least Manny was pressing the action and was trying to have something happen. What did Marquez do ? - NOTHING. If Manny did what Marquez did in those rounds, they would have done dancing with the stars.
    6. THE FACE: Look at their faces and tell me that "Marquez dominated the fight". Bullcrap! Marquez had far worse damage in his face.
    7. HBO CREW and the CROWD: They were on the ball. Ledderman had it for Manny by 4 points. This is not to say they were 100% accurate. This simply means that Marquez did not dominate the fight and was not robbed of a victory. The crowd who were booing were mostly Mexicans. What do you expect? This was the closest a Mexican came close to winning in a long time against Manny
    What fight were you watching??
Of course Manny was the aggressor, that is the way he fights. Marquez is never the aggressor, as he has been labled one of the best counterpunchers of his era. Do you know what a counterpuncher does?

ring generalship was controlled by Manny? Again do you understand that in boxing there are different type of fighters, and Marquez made Manny fight his fight. Manny came straight forward and Marquez timed him and countered effectively, as it is what a counterpuncher does. There were so many rounds were Pacquiao looked lost and didn't know how to approach Marquez.

As for face? what the hell does that even mean. After the Clottey fight Pacquiao's face looked worse than Clottey. did that mean Clottey won?

Body language says it all. In the end Pacquiao's team didn't feel they won. They knew they got a gift. Look at the press conferences, post fight intervies, and after the fight reactions.

Both fights were reminiscent of what went down on 11/12.

My first scorecard watching it live was 111-118 Dinamita.

2nd time watching it from Yo*tube and the picture quality was kinda crappy, I had PAC winning 115-114. The last three rounds JMM gave it away.

        • Watch it without the HBO commentary. In the British Primetime version, nobody was commenting about how strong Pac looks, and how Marquez was taking the last rounds off. In the Primetime version, it looks like Marquez was still trying and a case can be made that he won the 12th. When I watched it live I clearly gave it to Pac, but upon rewatching it, the more muddy it gets without Lampley hollering over missed shots.

          • If you change you score after watching it a second time, you don't have any business scoring the fight in the first place. What did see in the second viewing that you missed in the first?

►if you call compubox a liar then why still use it then???
►if you had marquez winning on the cards why bother giving a strong motivation to him???
►if you are to challenge a champ why not push him on the ropes and give him a hard time? instead of making him chase after you waiting for an opportunity the whole 12 rounds.
►if you had marquez winning why is he worn down and backpedaling from 9-12 rounds?
►did marquez intimadated the champ with his power shots at all? why does the champ looks fresher than him then?
►the rounds was evidently scored not only by points but also taking into account the intangibles. of course boxing fans surely knows about this.
►it was a close fight but the rounds are won by the more aggressive fighter. remember, seasoned judges are not fighters, they see you scoring but not
►and last but not the least, boxing is not a game of hit and run! your face messed up and legs shaking but you tell me you won because you landed more cleaner shots... tell that to the compubox and lederman.
►i hope i was able to comfort and enlighten those wounded hearts out there. history is history. and most of them are accurate

Wow it is clear from your little incoherent rant here that you're clearly not a boxing fan, but rather a Manny Pacquiao fan.
It is also clear that your knowledge of boxing is very little therefore I will no longer bother debating with you.
But before I let you go I will share one thing I think might be important for you to know. Compubox is not used to judge winners. The judges don't have access to it, and don't use it to judge fights. So your whole tell that to compubox or if compubox is a liar why use it, rant is just ******.

And last night was the worse. There were at least 6 rounds that Marquez clearly won, and even if you give every close fight to Pacquiao you still end up with a draw. That is the outrage, that is the bull**** people here are claiming. None of this well its their styles..., Marquez was better and should have won. End of story!
12-16 is bull crap by the judge. It was either a 6-6 or a 7-5 for pac. Jmm didn't perform in the final stretch. You have to want it be the aggressor and take ot form the champ. He just back pedaled. what he should have done is not coast. He should have fought fearlessly in the championship rounds but he didn't.

the 12-16 was way off. but clearly it was more likely a draw in my book or a close win for pac.
