I have read so many posts about Marquez being robbed, Mayweather will do this, Manny didn't do that - and it all makes me laugh.
I watched the fight, I scored the fight too and I had Manny winning the fight, by just 2 Rounds but not because he was particularly dominate in the fight.
In my eyes, Marquez landed some good shots throughout the fight, but, he landed alot more shots on Manny's arms and gloves rather than flush. One look at the face of Marquez, and you know Pacman had been landing clean punches.
But really, the deciding factor for me was NOT what Manny DID to win the fight as much as it was what Marquez DIDN'T do.
Coming down the stretch, the fight was there for the taking for either fighter. Unfortunately for Marquez, instead of really going out there and taking it to Pacman, and I mean REALLY taking the Championship Belt like a hungry fighter SHOULD do, he instead went into "cruise control" and allowed Pacman to be the aggressor.
Marquez did NOT get the win, not because Pacman was that much better last night - Marquez didn't get the win because he HIMSELF did basically NOTHING in the 12 and Final Round!
In other words, Marquez Beat Himself, by a simple lack of effort when it counted most, down the stretch and in the final round. Pacman was on the offense down the stretch, still pressing the action and Marquez was doing what he had been doing for most of the fight - in the final rounds he was backing up, and it cost him last night. End of story.
