Hm. No byline here, but it's pretty clear that this was written by a promoter. And not a very smart one. Who are they trying to fool comparing Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones at this point in their careers? This is a has-been versus a nobody. If there happens to be a decent undercard I might be willing to pay 10 for it on TV, but I'm not going to pay money for an internet stream anytime soon. The main event will probably feature about the same combined skill level of your average Fox Sports Fight Night Club undercard fight, so I'm not sure why they think they deserve PPV money of any kind for it.

So, until someone dies the official line is - "Well, look at hopkins"
This is why our sport needs PROPER UNBIASED REGULATION.Comment

roy i loved you back in the day. i still have love for you.. but on the real you should stop boxing.. 9.99 is a reasonable price for a fight. my common sense says not to even spend that but i just might as sort of a donation to you.. hopefully you will retire after this..Comment

That was weak...
The best comeback in the history of boxing? Right, Roy...
Morales coming back to beat the brakes off of Maidana, Leonard coming off of a REALLY long layoff to face Hagler ABOVE his weight without a tuneup, Ali re-emerging after his exile from boxing to fight his way to Joe Frazier...
Those are comebacks, this...this is just sad.Last edited by TintaBoricua; 11-14-2011, 12:56 PM.Comment

Boxing need a cap on age or years past prime
Say you were a former champion who continues past your hay day. I say give all professionals only 15 years to fight with continuation only if you are winning or are champion. If you lose your title and you have been in the sport 15 years your license is taken if you can't win within 3 years after losing your title. Example although Floyd has been fighting professional for 15 years but he is still winning. If he were to lose he has only 3 years to gain a title or lose his license given a total of 18 years. I'm just thinking outside the box so that we can better regulate this dangerous sport.Comment

Maybe so it is weak. From what I am hearing Roy is training hard but it could just be a hype job to promote the fight. We won't know until December 10th, I am hoping to see Lacy/Tito type of performance from Roy.That was weak...

From what I hear he took this fight to see how he feels and if don't give a performance he will hang them up from what I read from his manager on ESPN.comComment
