Roy won but since he wasnt superman people cried foul after that fight that tarvel should have got the nod.
marquez was able to neutralize pacquiao's aggression and was able to set the pace where pacquiao can't get into a rhythm but he was backing up all the time and had to wait for pacquiao to land his shots.

pacquiao was the aggressor the whole fight but was being countered and seem to be receiving the more telling blows even though he might have thrown and landed more punches.

    tough fight to score

a draw is the fairest way to go as far as im concerned since neither was a clear-cut winner.

If he is so much better why in the hell didn't he beat Floyd when they fought? And please don't say that Floyd came in 2 pounds overweight....

Pacquiao threw 578 punches connecting 176 while Marquez had it 436 connecting 138. Pacquiao threw 304 jabs connecting 59 to Marquez's 182 with 38 connects. Pacquiao threw 274 power punches connecting 117 while Marquez threw 254 with 100 connecting.

To everyone debating: as a challenger, you have to upstage champ to win. Close fights always go to title holder.

Common sense wins, even compu stats. Sweet Science loses when you are a challenger.

Counter punching is Pacquiao's weakness and that was made abundantly clear last night. And you can't deny that Mayweather is a better counter puncher than Marquez. Do you honestly see Pacquiao beating Mayweather decisively now? Because I don't.

Maybe Marquez let off the gas in the 11th and 12th because the extra weight began to show and tired him out? I've never seen him do this before. I believe he should have pressed the action more and maybe the outcome would have been different. There are three possible ways that I scored the fight and I either have Marquez winning by a point or two, or a draw. I would also like to add that in the prefight commentary on HBO's 24/7 Overtime, that I heard Freddie Roach say that he needs to feed Manny like 5 times a day in order to keep his weight up otherwise he will drop to 138 easy. If that's the case, then it's pitiful that even with all of the physical advantages Manny possesses over Marquez, and with the added catch weight on top, that Marquez was able to embarrass him in spots. Further along, the whole HBO crew was ****riding Pacquiao all night. They were giving him credit by saying he landed a right hook or something when it was Marquez who was punching him in the face, or screaming when Pacquiao threw a "tremendous" left hand that hit AIR, or praising his footwork for shuffling. Lastly I don't know wtf was up with the compubox stats because there were rounds where I could have sworn Marquez clearly outworked Pacquiao only to see that Pacquiao outlanded him like 15 to 10. I may sound biased right now, but that's just how I get when I hear one sided commentary trying to persuade me into seeing something that my eyes are not. I need to watch the British Primetime version of the fight. I hear they scored it for Marquez.

Mayweather IS NOT a "super marquez". . . Marquez is a COMPLETELY different fighter, who not only had 24 rounds against Manny, but ALSO can do some things better than Floyd: follow up counter attacks with combinations; a better overall combination puncher; more aggressive/more willing to stand in the pocket and release the hands; a better jab; and DEFINITELY goes to the body better with the left hook and left and right uppercuts. . . That's all. . . Thanks!
That is an incredible statement to make.

If Marquez is superior to Floyd with the left hook to the body, explain how Floyd toyed with Marquez by leading consistently with that very punch and knocked him down with a left hook???

This *******ed clown needs to get his coat.

Williams/Lara was a robbery, this fight was good and close. I for one had Marquez winning by 1 point, based on clean effective punches.
