Floyd looked old and slow??? Okay, he's not in his prime anymore (2001-2007), but he's still really good. If his legs were old and slow, than I guess he did pretty well for having old and slow footwork right??? He out landed Ortiz by like 50 punches through just 4 rounds, and still landed 35% of his punches through just 4, and Floyd is a notorious slow starter. Can't you just admit you're a Floyd basher???
I still say Floyd has 2 more years of good fighting left, kinda like how Ali was in 72'-73' or how Leonard was in 87'-88'....not prime, but still really good.
You saying Floyd wiffed on a lot of punches, and had slow footwork, just goes to show how critiqued Floyd is. He landed 35% of his punches and his opponent only landed 18% of his, and Floyd usually is a very slow starter the first 3-4 rounds, especially against southpaws.
Floyd still moved pretty well and still hit Ortiz at will with his straight right and hit him well a few times with his quick left hook. Floyd's style is much different than it used to be, he walks his opponents down now. And I have no doubt that you were probably a guy saying Floyd wouldn't walk Ortiz down, but he did for about 75% of the fight. Sure, Victor got Floyd on the ropes and had some success, but most of those punches where Floyd was on the ropes about 0:20 a round, landed on his arms and shoulders, or completely missed.
Floyd still looked pretty good man, especially in his first 4 rounds in 16 months, against a young strong fighter in his prime, who out weighed him by 14 lbs.
