I always get a chuckle when American boxers with less than 100 fans worldwide get paid these exorbitant sums of money, while guys like Brock Lesnar who are more popular than 100 Tim Bradley's combined get paychecks of $400K per fight. This shouldn't be happening.
stop talking out of your ass. GSP said he makes 4-5 million without sponsors per fight, and Brock makes equal or more.

No he's not. Lesnar was making a base pay of about 400,000 dollars a fight and then from sponsors and extra incentives he brought in a bit more. He made over a million for sure but I highly doubt either one of those guys got close to 5. Either way Lesnars base pay per fight was 400,000 dollars.

As for Bradley, it's good pay without the risk. Not saying it's good(it isn't) but from his standpoint I can certainly see why he decided not to fight Khan. If Khan brought more and could give him a bigger pay day, fight him but only for 500,00 more dollars, forget about it.

It was only 500,000 more though was it? Bradley was getting half the PPV on top of a 1.5m purse

Alright, so let's say he makes 2.5 million. Now that Bradley is with the Bobfather(aka the white Al Haymon), he can fight 3-4 times a year and make 4 million in 2012. If he fights Khan, that's at least 6 months of waiting and could only fight once that year. By fighting bums like Casamayor, he can now fight more often, look more impressive, and still make good paydays. People certainly will have backlash but if Bradley looks good against the bums, he and the Bobfather can market him as a superstar and he will certainly get a fanbase. Either way Timmy is getting P-A-I-D.

If I was Tim I'd do the same thing. Who doesn't like fighting cans and getting paid good money to do it? *** legacy, I'm okay with fat pockets.

Yup.....dude is getting paid for being smart and Lesnar isn't getting paid because he isn't too bright. Natural selection man, the strong minded move up while the weak minded get walked on.

athletes used to be admired for their athleticism, heart and strength.

now, apparently, we admire them for making wise business decisions.
