BoxingScene Staff - Calzaghe v Lacy predictions.
Thank goodness I wasn't yet on staff. My prediction would've been embarrassing! The irony being, I was one of the few American writers pining for Joe prior to the matchup even being secured, yet still convinced myself that my homie Jeff (and therein lies the reason) was gonna wreck him.

For that reason alone, I smell an upset.

If JMM wins, I'm gonna bump this thread every day for a year.

      WAR JMM!!
Ha yeah, that's usually the way it goes, isn't it? Would be something if WARquez pulled this one out. Would be even funnier if he won a decision that most felt should've went to Pac.

But yeah, if he wins you have every right to remind us of this for the rest of your (and our) days.

My prediction, Pacroid by late stoppage or UD. Why? Pacroid's youth and energy will be his key to victory. I see JMM going in there and giving ******* Nation what they want to see, someone who will stand in front of Pacroid and trade. JMM's warrior approach will lead to his downfall in this fight. Thats why I will continue to say that if Pacroid and Floyd ever fought Floyd would win. Why? Floyd can match Pacroids energy. Floyd will not stand in front of him. Floyd will have the size and reach advantage and combining that with Floyds speed and defensive style, it will frustrate Pac just like all the others. And when you get frustrated with Floyd, its all over.

and it will surprised me too if it will happen.. but sorry, the chance is very remote! while the fight might be good, they should be fighting at JWW to give nonetheless a little chance to JMM who was left at LW and could not go with Pac at WW.

Floyd? forget him! he will never take a fight with Pac because he is scared to death! Much more after witnessing Pac slaughtered JMM in this fight, but as usual, while Floyd continue his verbal onslaught against Pac, he will resort at the same time of some demand that will ultimately kill any possibility of facing Pac, to cover up his cowardice! He is a virtual chicken!

JMM tko in 10th. Upset?? Why will it be an upset if JMM wins? Because some experts said so? If the fight is close and goes the distance, it will be the same as the last two fights, right? But I see a JMM left hook to the liver and Pac is done.

Well, this basically tells you all you need to know about this fight. I have yet to hear one credible person involved in boxing ANYWHERE that has picked Marquez. Everyone can see this is a farce at this weight and at Juan's age. Manny picked him when he was showing signs of slowing and becoming more easy to hit (not to mention watching him fight underwater against Floyd.) I just hope he can finish the fight on his feet. That's the best anyone can hope for.

It seems like practically half of the staff are claiming to be in the "minority" of thinking that it will be a close fight.
