(Hopkins may well be top 5 middleweight, btw)

      Out of active boxers

pbf because he does everything picture perfect at a blazing speed

castillo because he gave floyd hell and his infighting is awesome

hopkins because he has one of greatest ring generalship ever witnessed
(TuPrincipedo you think hopkins would fall for the leonard tactics which lost the fight to hagler? hell no, and hagler is my favorite fighter EVER.)

toney because he is fun (does anyone remember him with the sombrero) and is beating heavyweights, and he is a perfect counterpuncher.

barrera cos he beat morales, who has every possible physical advantage over him

morales/corrales cos they are both warriors (even if erik is the better fighter

jones for what he has shown IN THE PAST (time to hang them up)

Outside of Trinidad and DeLaHoya who would qualify as a top flight challenger for Bernard? You could make a case for William Joppy and Keith Holmes but that is really about it.

I know it's not his fault that he ruled during a weak time in the MW division, but when you rate him with the best the quality of fighter's he faced should be including in the argument. Bernard's only beaten elite smaller guys like DLH and Tito, and as you all saw he lost to the first true middleweight he faced in Taylor.

My list would look something like this:
        Harry Greb
        Ray Robinson
        Carlos Monzon
        Marvin Hagler
        Stanley Ketchel
        Jake Lamotta
        Michael Cerden
        Mike Mccallum

        THEN Bernard Hopkins.
