K9. Gotta love a fighter who calls out as many fighters as Vanes, yet fights once a year.

Hopefully Trout gets the fights he is actually looking for now.

Geez people, how is it that we seen Austin aim for tougher fights for months yet, for some reason, on the other side, the fights don't get made; however, he takes who he can to keep the Showtime date and people act as if he truly wanted to fight Frank? He wanted Mundine, Wolak, Paul Williams, and Delvin Rodriguez first.

Mundine backed out, Wolak danced around the idea, Paul wanted a 80/20 split (with Trout getting the 20), and Delvin decided to fight Wolak for an HBO date. Showtime was only going to hold the date if Austin could find an opponent fast, big names would not close fast enough. The Japanese fighter hurt himself, Austin was left with even less time, so hell, he went with Frank. He would have been dumb not to take a fight on Showtime just because it isn't the type he wanted.

i have no doubt that Trout's next defense is against Mundine, first of all Mundine is the mandatory, second this fight was shown live on Australian Foxsport channel so Trout could get some exposure over here, i also think that picking an aussie for this fight was no coincidence, along with Mundines last fight which was against one of Trouts recent opponents in Alvarez, i could be wrong but putting all that together im almost certain it will be Trout-Mundine early next year, probably in Australia.

Although I don't think Trout is ready for Kirkland I would like to see that fight..Also I would not mind seeing Trout vs JCC Alvarez K-9 Wolak or Vanes...I think all fights would be good, although I think Trout would lose most of those fights they might be really fun to watch...

Not a meaningful defense for Trout but at least he is keeping busy and got to do it before his hometown.

totally agree that farcical 'fights' like this do Trout's legitimacy as an elite fighter no good....
