what's their excuse for scoring it that way?

it's not an easy fight to judge and by no means was it a robbery.

i just feel for jmm because he deserves a win in 1 of their 3 fights.
My reply to you is not about who won or lost.

After the fight, i watched ESPN and they showed Dan Rafael scorecards. It showed that Dan has it 7-5 for Pac. Then on their ESPN site and other media site, ESPN was mentioned it as having it a draw. So, i thought i made a mistake of counting the rounds that Dan gave to Pac. But in their video, it shows Dan giving it to Pac of 7-5 again.

    • I think this was a best case scenario for Arum because now he can get another fight out of JMM... and if Pac win I bet he retires.

      • Marquez has shown he is a master boxer but I call it a draw or a 1 point win for Pac

Marquez has shown he is an elite boxer. Hats off to him. He is a master boxer. He has shown he is better than Morales and Barrera. Marquez is serious boxer who takes his craft seriously. A true Professional of the sport.

Pac was the aggressor and had more rounds. It's just that the rounds marquez won he made pac look real bad. That's what we boxing fans clearly remember after the fight. The clear crisp counters executed to perfection. But the truth is pac landed more punches and power shots from the 7rounds that I think he won. Marquez had 5 rounds (full of nice highlight shots from him).

Some people think marquez won coz the shots we would likely remember are the marquez beautiful counters but as a whole pac was the busier fighter and the one who won more rounds.

12-16 was bull crap by the judge. It was either a 6-6 or a 7-5 for pac. Jmm didn't perform in the final stretch. You have to want it be the aggressor and take it from the champ. He just back pedaled. What he should have done was not coast in the final rounds. He should have fought fearlessly in the championship rounds but JMM didn't that’s why he lost.

Pacman outlanded Dinamita so what is the deal? Clean and crisp combinations by Dinamita were good for cameras and public to see, however, the number of punches landed is better for Pacman. (just have to replay the fight to get a clearer perspective on things.

If pac didn’t attack this would have been a boring fight. Clearly JMM just wanted to wait and wait to counter. That’s not how to get a belt from a champion. You have to be aggressive aswell to impress the judges.

Marquez clearly playing the waiting game. It's like a sniper guy just waiting for the kill. Easier than being aggressive. That's why judges see that Pac's effective aggression. Pac was moving forward attacking and making it a fight.

That said.. Marquez and pac are equalls in the ring.. Even if they fight again it will always be a close fight. They are yin and yang. Positive and negative. They cancel each other out. Even if they fight at 50 years of age it will still be close. Style makes fights. There style of fighting just mesh well together. If they fight 100x over and over it will always be the same. They are equals in my book. Both legends of the game.

        • I too had it 115-113 for Pacquiao. A whole bunch of head scratching rounds where neither guy did anything to steal it.

That in no means makes my scorecard the end-all, be-all of scorecards, it just goes to show that it could've gone either way. 6 rounds to 6, or 7 rounds to 5 for either guy. Maybe even 8 or 4.

With that said, if it's close you favor the guy coming forward and who also happens to be Champion. One round, I wasn't sure who to score for but then I saw the punch stats of that round, with Manny landing a few more and gave it to him just based on that.

          • I didnt flat out score it but I was still pretty much counting up rounds and off the top I had JMM winning anywhere from 8-10 rounds. Ill have to rewatch it. I watched the Primetime feed so this time I will watch HBO but Im not some rookie who is influnced by commentators.

Im not biased either. I like all styles of boxing but I do give pure boxers way more credit than other guys give them. I think they get punished at times when it comes to judging because people wanna see brawls & wars. With that being said, I thought Pac won both of the first 2 fights by 1 point but from what I saw this time, I thought JMM clearly won atleast 8 rounds but I have to rewatch it

            • Guess all those world champions, pro-boxers, analysts and legends of the sport around the world must be wrong.

Compubox is everything to some it seems.

I dont think so coz JMM is the aggressor when he fights the Chickenfloyd that is why the chicken dominates him by pot-shoting...

While against Pac he just keep on waiting on the attacks of Pac that is why he keeps on back padaling all night...

Only if JMM engage the fight toe-to toe he might seen what he is wishing for...

It certainly looked deliberate, you could see him feeling for Pacquiao's foot, stepping on it and keeping the pressure on whilst he was hitting him, even following him with the foot. In the last round he even walked on top of his foot for a few steps. You can even see him lifting up his foot keeping the heel on the canvas so that he can come down hard on Pacquiao's foot at just the right time.

Normally, when you are throwing punches etc your feet you compensate by a weight transfer, but Marquez was hanging on as long as he could, throwing lefts and rights from the exact same posture whenever he had Pacquiao's foot trapped. He could transfer his weight all right, but Manny P couldn't.

Manny P didn't fall, as he easily could have if he was trying to evade the punches, but as he was punching with Marquez he didn't. However, because his foot was trapped, he couldn't transfer his weight properly when he was punching with both hands, and for those several seconds he couldn't move at all. it can easily be seen from his appearance and body movements that at those times, he was in a fix.

it was deliberate, and looked well practiced.

                  • This is exactly what I've been thinking and saying. I take nothing away from JMM, but he needed to be aggressive. No way were they going to give it to him if it went to the scorecards. Brilliant display of countering. I ask everyone who had watched the fight if JMM did enough to take it away and win against the champion? Again, any round considered close is given to the champ. So many intangibles to consider how a fight is judged. Personally, these two are made for each other. No matter how many times these guys fight it's a coin toss.
