    Worst era in HW boxing?

To me this one looks like the worst, post-war at least (I don't know enough about the 30s which seemed pretty bad, if Primo Carnera was champion)

A case can be made for the patterson reign, but it was more like he was ducking everyone while liston was beating them

Midway through the 80s, when tyson unified was not great, but was it so bad as it is now?

Other than Tyson I didnt hear of many greats in the mid 80's. I think the 50's were bad when Marciano was there because the toughest competition were guys way past their primes.

At least Marciano's era had Marciano himself and some really great fighters who were merely very good due to their age.

I'll take that over the absolute **** we have today.

Far & away todays heavies are garbage. Byrd, the often injuried V. Klit and (uggh) Ruiz. Damn all 3 heavies together fought how many times in the past year?

today, we have john the bum ruiz and chris the duck byrd as "champions". and we have guys like luan krasniqi and hasim rahman getting title shots. this is also the era of "ill take only one fight a year, two if i feel like it, and take the rest of the time off, spewing out hype and bull****".

this era is far worse than any other.

Definitely this era. A huge lack of talent in the division, coupled with guys who think they are worth more/better than they are. It's a sad, sad state the division is in.
