so u telling me ortiz vs martinez can happen? i think so..
Ortiz/martinez can DEFINITELY happen, Ortiz could also make 154 fairly comfortably, that would probably be more natural than 147. 147 is just a more realistic "peak" weight class for him.

Problem with martinez is, because he was a career 154 fighter.. when all of the excess weight is stripped off of him, he weighs around 152ish of complete muscle, with around 2-3% BF. That would mean making anything below 152 is dangerous, since he'd be shedding lean weight instead of fat and water.

The more he trains to fight at 160, the more dangerous 154 becomes as well. Since moving to 160 he has put on maybe 6lbs of muscle. He weighs 158 now when stripped of all fat and water instead of 152. At his age, it'd be harder to remove that and even harder to keep building to go higher. He came in 171 against Dizzy and performed brilliantly, then 165 against Barker.. which is the same weight he came in virtually every night at 154, so i think 160 is his limit personally.

I'll leave you with this, it is a fact that in Floyd's last 2 fights he fought the best welterweight not named Floyd or Manny, remember this is fact. So take that & twist it however you like.

makes sense there..but i dont see why he would try around 147-150 if he wants pac or floyd that bad..shiet id watch a martinez/ortiz at 154

I would too, that actually sounds like a damn good fight too. I wanted the Cotto fight to happen pretty badly too but Miguel doesn't want it. Martinez went after the fight so hard that he even went out of character, started talking foul about cotto and what not.

I'd like to see him in with lara or any of the top of 154 honestly, but if he wants "money" then Ortiz and/or Cotto/Marg winner is definitely where it's at. Barker made him look pretty damn small, as a martinez fan I wouldn't want him to overstay his welcome at 160.

                guys around his size..curious..
honestly at 150 both pac and floyd have a chance but i would edge pac cuz of his combinations of punches he throws..

we all know he wants the big $$$$ and theres only 2 fighters..who can make him $$$ and we know who..
He always said he wanted Cotto, and I'm pretty sure he is willing to get Canelo but Canelo is overprotected so he won't fight Maravilla.

Guys at 168 aren't around his size, they're a lot bigger. Martinez gets at the weight in at 158, and re hydrates to 165 ... all those super middleweights re hydrate to to around 180.

I used to want this fight too, but the more I think about it, the more I think we'll get a styles clash.
