            A little education:
Boxing is the west's martial art. We invented it, and until very recently, it's been the only one that's highly popular in terms of spectatorship for professional competition in this country. Now, all the other great ones, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Karate, wrestling etc. and (even boxing) have been combined into one arena to be utilized along with and agaisnt eachother and it's very popular. Good for it. More power to MMA.
It does not threaten boxing, people will always want to see the art practeiced by the very best even they also like the mix of them all as well.

            Stop being insecure.

The Greek Pankration was boxing and wrestling combined. Alexander the Great's soldier's, for instance, were all skilled in it and pretty devastating fighters.

2M homes tuned into the last free UFC which happened to be on the same day as Mayweather vs Ortiz. The UFC show ended about an hour before the Mayweather-Ortiz main event.

I guarantee you that many of the UFC viewers that day also ordered and helped boost the numbers for the Mayweather vs Ortiz PPV. They're already at home, drunk, in "fight mode"; what better to do than continue the party with PPV Boxing.

I'll be watching both... good reason and opportunity to drink more beer.
