Nope. Cotto has been past his prime since his KO loss to Margarito, and only Cotto fans and Pac lovers can't admit that. In 2009, Cotto was still good, but not prime. In 2011-2012, Cotto is getting close to the point of not even being that good anymore. I think Alvarez and Kirkland have good shots at beating Cotto right now, and Lara would most definitely beat Cotto. With that said, if Antonio doesn't get booted, Cotto beats him. Margarito is way past it at this point, hasn't been prime since or good since 08-09.

Mayweather-Cotto does ZERO for Floyd now. Also, for all those people saying Floyd ducked Cotto...I remember Mayweather and his camp calling out Cotto in 06' to which Top Rank replied "Cotto isn't ready for Floyd". Than, when Floyd announced he's done after the Hatton fight, Cotto and Top Rank said he was ducking them.

Another title at 154 would enhance his legacy a bit, but he could catch hell for fighting a Pac left over, especially since he's been so quick to point out that Pac fought Oscar, Hatton, Mosley, and now Marquez at 144 after he already did.

If Cotto had been really competitive with Manny back in 2009, maybe I'd say Floyd should jump on that. But, Cotto hasn't been the same fighter since his KO loss to Margarito in 08', not even close. Since that loss to Margarito, he hasn't done much. He fought a terribel fight against Clottey, where he arguably lost. That fight showed a lot of people that Cotto wasn't in his "prime" anymore, simple as that. Than, he got blown away by Pacquiao for 12 rounds. He came back at 154, and beat a past prime Mayorga and a decent undefeated prospect in Foreman. Maybe if Cotto were to come back at beat Margarito and than Lara/Alvarez/Kirkland I'd say Floyd should fight him, but yeah.
